Minor Premise Reviews
My main critique was that movie felt a little slow and boring at times. However, I really liked the cinematography, and there were some really beautiful shots and I it did a really great job of capturing the different personas. I also thought the acting was really good and overall the concept really begets some deep questions about human nature. The twist at the end was really good and even if I knew what it might be, it still had me shocked.
Like a lot of scifi movies, I think the premise is very cool but the acting and execution lacks a bit. It feels like a low budget movie, but for what they are able to get within that realm I thought they'd did an excellent job. I thought that the ending was a bit telegraphed, and it likely could have been cut down a bit since it started to feel like the same old, same old approximately halfway through. A fun parallel that I'm not sure was intentional, was they told the story in a somewhat fragmented matter, which I am interpreting to be a symbol of the premise of this movie.
Slow, mildly intriguing despite leaning too heavily on the science aspects to allow for a grasp upon the premise... should have been titled 'No Premise.' Not a bad premise, just very poorly executed.
very good. fascinating how small behaviour changes give impression of major character differences. deserves to be far better known. hope the team who made it are funded for more projects.
I liked this movie a lot. Very interesting concept, good acting, no boring scenes or bad dialogue. The only thing I think could have been better was the ending — I loved the ending itself, despite seeing it coming, but I think Allie could have been a little bit better about verifying which Ethan she was talking to….
I really enjoyed this movie. It reminds me of Primer and feels like it belongs in the same subgenre category!
It's a futuristic play on Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde but it's just not not interesting enough for me.
This is as bad as they come. Ridiculous story in a one-room setting. Very poorly lit so that you can't see the poorly constructed set. Those positive reviews I see are from the crew of wrote and made it.
yet again i feel like i'm watching a different movie than everyone else. to be honest, this one lost my attention big time & i didn't even watch most of it - despite only being 90min long & the type of sci-fi plotline i'd be interested in. it just never did anything interesting. i have no urge to try & watch this again & i wouldn't recommend it for anyone else either.
Repetitive boring movie with so many loose ends that make no sense. The entire movie is spent looking at a sweaty actor trying to toy with his brain. Problem is best sci-fi's are ones where the possibility of something happening or at least one of our fears of something happening makes it that much better of a movie... This movie rather than give you fear about something that can happen it's more of a movie highlighting how bad schizophrenics have it...
Nice little Indie sci-fi with a clever premise that explores how much of our identity is effected by memories and specific personality traits. Hardly moving from his main location, Schultz's first outing as director is impressively shot and structured. He does well to permeate the entire film with a strong feeling of anxiousness elevated by a sense of limited time; it lives in that feeling and that's where it excels. I wish it had explored some of the more wide-ranging effects of its premise, but that could have been a budget issue. Either way, it's well worth the watch.
Payoff just wasn’t worth the journey it took to get there . Not terrible tho 2.2
