Minority Report Reviews
fire this up after listening to the Rewatchables on the ringer podcast feed. . Trying to prevent crime based on a flawless system. This was actually people made movies more and werent just making sequels. I forgot how good Farrell was in this movie. There are definitely some loopholes in this movie, but it’s entertaining from beginning to end with suspense on each front. I think a prequel to this movie would be great to see how it was first created and thought of. I didn’t know Spielberg directed the first couple times I watched it, but I’ve always got a new appreciation for that guy and the work he does

Not bad, just felt kinda long and it did not hook me that much. I found the plot to be unpredictable, but not mind blowing. Plus, I don't think it was all that well thought through.
This film is speechless, excellent absolutely super.
Pretty good Sci-Fi - Cruise does a good job. I especially like Peter Stormare's role as the eye surgeon hack and the subsequent spider ID crawlers. Definitely worth a watch.
Great premise. The drug subplot is awesome. Fun movie
A Sci-Fi Classic. Really well done all around with really great direction by Spielberg here. You think it's gonna be a mindless Tom Cruise action flick but it really becomes a Sci-Fi Noir level complex murder mystery plot. There isn't that much action in this actually outside of like 2-3 scenes which are all really well done. The special effects do hold really good too suprisngly. The sonic shotgun was freakin awesome. Lots of CGI but also lots of practical sets too with the green screen scenes to balance it out. While this has that grey dull metallic look of lots of 00's Sci-Fi it never feels generic or dull. Part of that is Speilbergs direction. But also the lighting making things so blurred and bright to offset it gives the whole film an almost dreamlike feel to the whole thing. It makes it very memorable overall and it did grow on me. I haven't really seen that done before in a Sci-Fi flick. This is filled with lots of commentary about the Future, Big Brother, and how life changing technology can be changed from good to bad depending on whose hands it falls into. It also has a really great twist to it as well. I did kind of see it coming but it was still great the way it was done leading up to when John kills the guy. It's a really powerful moment how you can change the future. This is built on the backs of the greats like Terminator 2, Blade Runner, and the Fifth Element style wise. As great as everything is I do have minor gripes. First even though I get the twist and the villian is really good, I still have trouble understanding his motives that were explained. It just gets sort of hard to follow and I'm not fully sure I understand it but I get the general idea. Second, a couple of plot holes like why when John scans his eye do they not have the system alarms in place for that, why would he let a guy he put away operate on him, why would the guy actually help him too like he did, why did the precog say run when it was too late? It's minor though and I can overlook. also, the product placements at times especially in the mall are distracting. Finally, the soundtrack is great and it feels like a Spielberg movie type score but it sounds like all the previous ones even though it's used great and I liked it. It reminded me of other movies rather than giving this one something entirely unique. Everything is still really good and I wanted to give the 5 ranking but the more I thought about ti the more little minor holes kept popping up. This has that more serious style and tone that later Speilberg movies would have but it also has the charm and some humor of his 80's-90's work still. Anyone who is a fan of Speilberg, any actors in this, Sci-Fi, or murder mysteries will like this.
Its mid as heck Its old and dose not hold up well not worth watching twice entertaining but not worth 2 hours. 6.2/10
One of the more thought provoking movies I’ve seen (bc I finally decided to not watch only action) everything you didn’t expect will happen, leaving you scratching ur brain, but what’s a tom cruise movie without action so it’s great as always so I finally didn’t fall asleep on a sci fi movie (also I had to read a summary after bc can’t heard dialogue half the time so -1 points for that I didn’t even know the names of the people 💀)
O drama futurista e inteligente de ficção-científica que questiona o poder e o controle do sistema sem tornar a experiência do cinéfilo decepcionante. Show de ação e originalidade que jamais perdem o timing.
Cinematically great; actually quite good for a sci-fi action film; great acting - but not so great for the notion of the basis of the film writing. Obviously, as a fictional piece it (and the entire point of the fictional genre) is that it is strictly unrealistic and undoable, so here the 'not so great' i'm writing about is of the stand-point of arresting and punishing to a 'pre-crime', fortunately it does acknowledge this itself within the movie.. but the one many flaw it forgot (but i guess in order to actually make the movie) was that no organisation would ever spend so much time and money, going against all legal law and human ethics, to build an entire premise and technology etc etc especially that relied on actual humans contained in tanks of fluid (guessing against their own will) for the sake of something that was both immorally wrong and totally illegal to everyone involved. P.s- what is it with some sci-fi film producers with having so many ridiculously high-rise block flats? Pretty certain people aren't immortal and having kids every flipping year *lol*
While the central concept is the stuff quality science fiction is made of, the occasional extra bit of weirdness waters down the impression. The idea behind this film takes some time for the viewer to work out, but once you do you can sit back and enjoy, especially the Tom Cruise action bits.
pre-crime is a nice thought, but we haven’t even figured out how to properly handle post-crime. more importantly, why wasn’t his name just anderson? whose decision was it to name him anderton?
Another spielberg blockbuster in the projection booth. Spielberg never misses with this science fiction based film based on a short story from phillip k dick. it's a story of redemption, invention and relevation.
How can you not love this Sci-Fi thriller?
Disheveled, buzzcut Cruise is kind of bringing it in this mostly silly, inconsistent, and ugly film. I do think, eventually, the desaturated lighting becomes too much of a headache to watch.
Minority Report by Steven Spielburg starring Tom Cruise made me feel fascinated and amazed. Minority Report is a Sci-Fi genre. In Minority Report the protagonist grew as trying to prove his innocence over something he was reported guilty for. And figuring out the truth about what really happened with the death of Anne Lively. The antagonist in Minority Report is Director Lamar Burgess, he claims innocency but in the end the conflict is resolved that he was not proven innocent. I believe you should watch this film its very interesting and has very many good plot twists and will definitely grasp your attention.
Minority Report” by Steven Spielberg, starring the critically acclaimed Tom Cruise is an emotional Sci-Fi rollercoaster. In this Sci-fi thriller John Anderton (Cruise) is the Chief of the “Pre-crime” division in Washington D.C. in the year 2054. John is a cop who plays by the rules of the system but once he realizes that he will be murder a man he has never met he has no choice but to figure this mystery out. Mid-movie John is faced with a choice which humanizes his character to an extent where you can find yourself relating to him. This film is full of twists and turns and at each point in the movie, you are kept guessing. The director did a great job with portraying each scene and the phenomenally talented actors only made the film better so I cannot recommend this movie enough.
Minority Report by Stevn Spielberg made me feel amazed, surprised and astonished. This movie is Sci-Fi because the story is set in a future where a specialized police department called PreCrimes uses advanced technology to arrest individuals before they commit crimes. One important theme in "Minority Report" is the tension between free will and determinism. The PreCrime system is based on the idea that the future is predetermined and can be predicted with absolute certainty. The protagonist, John Anderton, experiences significant growth throughout the film at the beginning, he is a dedicated officer fully committed to the PreCrime system. However, as he is accused of a future crime himself, he is forced to question the system he once staunchly supported. The antagonist is Chief John Burgess who frames John Anderton for a future murder to cover up his own crimes and maintain the illusion of Precrime infallibility. I would definitely recommend this movie it offers a thrilling and engaging cinematic experience.
