Monster House Reviews
It's has very good storyline, and also some dark meaning behind this movie. Overall this movie is good.
Engraçado, aterrorizante e divertido tudo na medida correta, filme PERFEITO! Com certeza um ótimo filme família, entrete tanto os adultos quanto as crianças.
Monster House is one of those movies you show your kids as their first horror movie.
A classic of my childhood. Recommended.
This is quite an entertaining "kids' movie. If your kid wants to watch scary movies I recommend it. Although, make sure they have the heart for it first. It takes haunted house to the next level. The house is the monster. It is a good plot twist in my opinion. Also, the characters are entertaining. The comedy is decent. The backstory of the house is also well written. I especially enjoyed learning about the Nebbercracker.
The Best and Most Horrifying Animated Movie Ever!😱💀👻🏚🍿
It was in fact bad...
"Monster House" was created using the same Robert Zemeckis motion capture technology that brought us "Polar Express" and "Beowulf". Of all the films made using this technology, this one came out looking the best. It embraced a more cartoony style and found its way on the better half of the uncanny valley. It doesn't mean that the movie looks great, but it is certainly the best by comparison. The movie was helmed by first time director Gil Kenan. It is Halloween, and our story follows three kids, who are just at the age where they think they are too old to trick or treat. There is a house across the street with a creepy back story that is believed to be haunted. Through various circumstances the trio investigate and see exactly how much truth there are in these rumors. The characters are pretty annoying, it is accurate to 13-year-olds, but it doesn't help the audience root for their survival. The movie in general feels a little direction less. It juggles about two too many stories and characters. For example, the trailers highly advertised Jon Heder's character, "Skull". But really his character could have been written out of the movie, and nothing would be missed. He only provides gamer nerd jokes, which admittedly Heder does well with. Add in a couple cops, a babysitter and some random bullies, and you got yourself an overstuffed story. When the trio is inside the titular house, the movie can be the right level of creepy and funny. I'm sure that for some kids this could be a fun Halloween movie. The story just spends too much time wandering around. The ending reveal about the house...I'm not sure if it is supposed to be hilarious, but it might be the dumbest reason to have a house be haunted. It likewise makes the climax feel a bit underwhelming. Overall, the movie has some treats, but could have used fewer tricks in the bag.
Absolute classic and fun movie.
This is the scariest animated children's movie I have ever watched. The script is very interesting and in my opinion creative too. It's a movie that not only kids will enjoy (if they manage not to hide under the blanket), but maybe also their parents. Good acting from Steve Buscemi.
The Worst Movie I've Ever Seen, Total Piece of Dogcrap, don't Watch EVER, I DARE YOU TO WATCH THIS GOD-AWFUL FILM!
This movie was a minor disaster to see the house coming alive trying to eat the kids that were innocent. How would the house come alive by Nebbercracker living in there?
I'm afraid of haunted houses because my house used to be close to one but luckily it was torn down and made into a nice new house.
"Monster House" is a decent family-friendly Halloween film, though it hasn't aged as well as I remembered. Watching it as a kid, I was captivated by the spooky, possessed house concept, which is still the movie's strongest aspect. The idea of a haunted house that's alive and dangerous is both creative and well-executed. However, the animation has definitely lost its charm, and I found the character designs to be quite unappealing on this rewatch. They look awkward and distracting, which took away some of the magic. That said, the film strikes a good balance between eerie and fun, making it perfect for those who want something spooky without the real scares. While it’s not a masterpiece, it's an entertaining enough choice for Halloween viewing with kids, offering enough thrills and heart to keep you engaged. It’s a nostalgic, decent watch, but nothing spectacular.
Monster House is an instant classic Halloween movie. I love the mature humor and the characters. Chowder is my favorite part of the movie
I loved this movie as a kid and I still love it as an adult.
Amazing and amazing
I loved this movie ever since I was a kid
This movie was honestly a great watch, and an underrated GEM. I do have to agree that the CGI is a bit dated, but I don't suppose visuals are everything.
It also delivered some heartfelt themes about friendship, bravery, and facing your fears.
