Monsters Reviews
Terrible film. The main characters didn't know each other, and after 2 days they are in love. Some monsters that like light, but don't like light. This movie made 0 sense.
Poor film I thought. No direction. More like a love story. Basically these two dudes hang out and fancy each other. Then some monsters are kinda thrown in. The monsters are reminiscent of war of the worlds monsters. Now that was a good film with cruisey boy.
A very clever movie. Beautifully filmed
It's an alien-invasion sci-fi with an interesting premise that just isn't utilised enough. The story is better than I'd expected, but the direction isn't strong enough to realise its potential
What kind of end was that?
I watched this movie based on two things. 1) it was on a list of best 50 horror movies. 2) One critic stated it was the "Best giant monster movie ever." Well let me tell you, it was neither. Very slow to start and it maintained that level of boredom throughout the film. I kept hoping they'd get to some fantastical giant monster scene that would leave me on the edge of my seat. Epic fail. Do not waste your time.
Worst monster movie ever made. Monsters barely in it, the plot terribly written and the acting was so corny.
An interesting film, not what I expected. The titular monsters are used sparingly.
I really liked this movie. In fact, I even purchased the movie. I’m surprised it did not get better reviews. Anywho, if you like an easy to follow, good sci-fi movie, I recommend watching this.
Terrible movie. Where were the “monsters”. Ending was horrifically stupid. Don’t waste your time.
Loved this movie. Will watch it over and over again. Always leave with the thought of who the real monsters are.
Somewhat boring and mildly forgettable, though undeniably well made with some great messages and care behind the project, "Monsters" isn't Gareth Edwards' best work, but it's certainly far from a bad movie. It definitely was slow at parts, though I think the end result was worth it.
Wonderful sci-fi adventure with fantastic couple - Able and McNairy in lead roles.
Why the hate for this film? Didn't really feel the chemistry between the leads and the ending was a shame but 95% of the time I was entertained, intrigued and occasionally on edge. Well made. Watched on freeve.
what a lovely surprise this film is! Gareth Edwards offers us a fine and delicate work of science fiction that hides something completely different
It was a solid movie 🎬.....I can't complain
premise looked cool, but the movie is pretty boring and long long dialogues with no point, the story just isn't moving along
Definitivamente se queda en un simple intento, buenos efectos especiales a secas, actuaciones regulares... Lo imperdonable son los errores geográficos... 🤨
For what it is, I guess it is fine...? Way too boring, and you should consider it an achievement if your movie is just about 90 minutes long and it's boring. I've seen three hour long movies that were such a pleasant and easy watch, yet I found this one boring. Nothing happens, the "Monsters" of the title appear for a brief 10 minutes just at the ending. The leads are mediocre to say the least, and their chemistry is lackluster, I couldn't care less for either of them. The premise and the execution of it feel as empty as the Sahara desert. Too much romance and hitchiking for a horror movie regarding a non existent alien invasion. The emptiness complements the awkward quietness and you are left with a mundane, underwheling flick that promises more than it has to offer. Though I will cut it some slack because of its tiny budget that limited essentially everything, some tension packed scenes and the admirable direction by then-newcomer Gareth Edwards. I wouldn't reccomend it, though.
