.. yeah .. the real "monsters" were the ones with the guns, missiles and bombs ..

Loved the idea of the film just it was so all over the place with its context, the 2 end soldiers one of them just kept crying which felt like every other scene. It become far too much and started to get annoying. The monsters felt more like a background piece, nothing really goes anywhere with it them or what they do. Overall I thought the film was bad, really bad

Really enjoyed it. Saw the first one a long time ago. Although really different from the first it, it is beautifully shot and an adventure by itself.

This is Terrance Mallick's "The Thin Red Line", but with Aliens. And monsters. Like the title tells you it is. And with a poetic narration. Beautifully shot, beautifully acted, and beautifully narrated. If you want to see what human soldiers will do when dealing with semi-hostile alien life-forms that are a result of a meteor strike, this is for you.

a shaky attempt at a sequel, long, very long, very long which is more of a war film than a real science fiction film

Well, what a waste of time. There are monsters in the film but they're used more as a prop. The characters are all extremely obnoxious. The acting was good, but the story is your standard military, USA needing to stick their noses in everything, savior complex kind of movie.

Here's a movie that has no idea what it wants to be. A war movie? a monster movie? A culture clash movie? The more it tried to cover all 3 interests, the less interesting it was. Actually, a very vapid and dopey movie. Waste of your time watching it.

I didn't watch the first one as I didn't know it existed before this movie but I regret watching it the monsters weren't really apart of the movie when it was about them it would've been better if they actually fought then and didn't just drop bombs on them that doesn't really seem like a life threatening thing yeah in the ending it was big but seeing how weak they are taking about 15 shotgun shots to the head from 100ft away they are pretty weak they should've put the plot around the monsters and not make it another war movie cause those are all the same

Absolutely horrible. Muddled writing and no clear explanation. When you start out from Detroit, what do you expect?

Dopo quattro anni dal primo capitolo, arriva un sequel con decisamente meno successo. La trama inserisce molta più azione, lasciando comunque spazio ai dialoghi e ai sentimenti. Il problema vero sono i ragazzi che fungono da protagonisti, troppo simili nei comportamenti e poco credibili in battaglia; diciamo soldati per caso. La fotografia e il montaggio mantengono un elevato standard.

Enjoyed the movie more as a combat/war movie rather than a monsters war movie. The combat sequences seemed to be preformed and represented very well. Would love to have watched a movie that was more based on the original. So based on that it should have been a different stand alone movie rather than be a sequel to Monsters from 2010. Looking at it as a separate movie rather than a sequel is what I based it on. That's how I enjoyed it. Call me crazy, call me wrong. I just like to look at things differently and how and in what way I did enjoy this and other movies that take an approach as a sequel. I just try and look at them as a non related movie and see if I can enjoy it that way.

I am forced to give the movie half a star but if I could give it no stars it would have been more appropriate. This film has to be one of the absolute worst movies I have ever seen and as the movie progressed, I kept waiting for the "good parts". Alas, after 2 hours of utter rubbish, I realized that those were 120 minutes of my life I will never get back. The film lacked any sense of purpose, no character development, no plot, and nothing that actually made sense as to the reason for making such a film. The only nice parts of the film happened to be the scenery of of the Kingdom of Jordan which makes me want to visit the desert. Other than that, if you are contemplating watching this film, just don't. Not now, not ever. Save yourself from this pathetic excuse of a movie.

After seeing the trailer for the sequel, my eyes were glowing. I remeber, thought, This seems to be the movie that the first one should have been. Finally some action, the effects look good... But then after I watched it; what a disappointment it was. Just terrible, a bit better than the first but a similar borefest.

The first 20 minutes is the definition of toxic masculinity and exploitation of women. Seriously? I expected better from this director.

Worst movie I have ever seen. The monsters were better actors then the actors. It is a "b" rated screw up. I would definitely not recommend this and in fact would warn others to turn it off. Very dull and not at all entertaining.

Monsters that look like anteaters or grave yard trees, check. Soldiers we don't know or care two bullets about, check. A monumental waste of time, checkmate.

The title made me think it would focus on the literal monsters threatening humanity, but its trying to make you see the monster inside. I came to watch them fight monsters, it turned out to be a same old cliched story telling, more of a bad drama. Almost as bad as Sniper: Special Ops with Seagal. I couldn't finish that, I shouldn't have finished this.
