Moonfall Reviews

The film is far too self-important to qualify as a proper spoof but also far too ridiculous to take remotely seriously.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Jan 17, 2025

Moonfall is the best kind of disaster, it distracts the brain just long enough to remind us it could be a lot worse.

| Original Score: C | Jul 3, 2024

One of the most entertaining disaster movies for the first hour Then the second hour happened It become an actual disaster

| Jul 25, 2023

A tedious and mostly interminable disaster epic...

| Original Score: 1/4 | Apr 4, 2023

The third act of this film goes to places that are so insane that it will leave audiences slack-jawed, open-mouthed and shaking their heads in utter disbelief to what they are witnessing.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Nov 13, 2022

The problem with Roland Emmerich’s Moonfall is not that it is silly; we have all come to terms with the ridiculous nature of his disaster pictures a long time ago. The problem is that it is rather boring.

| Original Score: 4/10 | Nov 8, 2022

Sometimes you want to sit and solemnly contemplate a future full of natural disasters, and sometimes you just want to watch a terrible disaster movie.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Sep 15, 2022

It’s expensive, impressive in its visual effects and crisply edited and paced. But it’s also soulless and empty, a noisy dash from one end of the preposterous plot to the other.

This movie is bananas, nuts, completely insane, and it didn't even have a great Aerosmith song!

Watch it with some wine, some edibles, some friends…make it a vibe

Besides entertainment (the movie is boring and repetitive), of the promised distraction (obviously didn't deliver), Moonfall should be -wishful thinking, here- the end of disaster films as we know it. [Full review in Spanish]

If you judge Moonfall as another catastrophe movie then it may even be boring, but the science fiction concept makes it more interesting than it might seem at first. [Full review in Spanish]

It's like someone went 'Alexa write a really, really bad science fiction script'.

"Moonfall" feels like a paint-by-numbers discount version of an Emmerich disaster flick. The moon does fall, though, so that's something.

| Original Score: 3/10 | May 18, 2022

Excessively simple, boring sequences obsessed with adhering to convention. [Full review in Spanish]

The acting isn't as bad as the screenplay, but the look of the film is also irritating. It looks like it is whitewashed. The images are not crisp. It has a very silly premise. That makes it perfect for comedy, but a poor fit for drama.

You can’t ask anything serious from Moonfall. [Full review in Spanish]

| Original Score: 4/10 | May 13, 2022

Yes, it’s more end-of-the-world bilge from Roland Emmerich.

| Original Score: 2/4 | May 6, 2022

Moonfall is the kind of film, where even when the world is ending, former spouses somehow find the time to be passive aggressive with each other on the phone.
