Moonrise Kingdom Reviews
It's an enchanting foray into the whimsical world of Wes Anderson, showcasing his signature style with a delightful blend of quirky characters and a nostalgic setting. Set against the backdrop of a lush, idyllic island, the film masterfully captures the innocence of young love through the eyes of two young runaways, Sam and Suzy. Anderson's meticulous attention to detail and vibrant color palette create a dreamlike atmosphere that enhances the film's charm. With its heartfelt storytelling and delightful idiosyncrasies, "Moonrise Kingdom" stands out as one of Anderson's most captivating works, offering warmth and a sense of wonder that lingers long after the credits roll.
The quirkiest, most endearing film I’ve watched for a long time.
If you like Wes Anderson's specific brand of weird, you'll like this film. I wasn't crazy about the main characters but everything else was excellent.
Absolutely peak. Fantastic narrative, sort of silly acting on the kids but still good. Perfect climax, beautifully epilogue
A modern day Romeo and Juliet with a stellar adult cast. It also has beautiful scenery, great storytelling and wonderful music. I found it completely charming.
Wes Andersons film style is so unique, making this movie easy and fun to watch. Watching Edward Norton run down a hill flailing his arms after the scouts were chasing Sam made me laugh, and I appreciate all the comedy in this movie. Definitely recommend if you like Fantastic Mr. Fox, or any of Andersons other films.
I really enjoyed watching this movie, it had a very interesting plot. Some things I liked about the how it was film was the symmetrical shots they had like at the ending when you can see Suzy with her siblings and Sam in the front of them painting. And the split shot when they where calling the social worker and you could see them both on the screen. I also enjoyed the colors and setting they had especially the one when they are running away at the beginning and you could see them in the woods.
It was an amazing movie. The acting was odd, but very well done. The cinematography and shots were great. I really enjoyed the symmetry and the coloring in each shot. The setting was beautiful and very well done (especially because of the props and sets). The plot was slow, but there wasn’t ever a moment where I felt bored or disinterested while watching. The ending was done perfectly. The only criticism I have for this movie is that some scenes were uncomfortable to watch (though, I’m guessing this was intentional). Overall, it was one of the best movies I’ve ever watched.
I really enjoyed the movie as it shows the love life between two characters who really cherish each other. I did NOT want to see 2 little kids getting it on during the beach scene, but besides that it was a great movie. I appreciated the ending of the movie with a surprising turn of events and I highly recommend that more people should watch it. The shots taken were mesmerizing and the un-realism adds to the story by making absurd things over looked and continuing the story.
Very fun movie, with a bit of a slow start but made up with the end of the film being exciting and leaving you on the edge of your seat not knowing what was going to happen next. The attention to detail was phenomenal throughout the whole film giving you a sense of realism. The way the movie was filmed was just as amazing, giving the audience beautiful shots of the landscape.
I liked the colors used in this film and how then told the story, especially with the foreshadowing of the storm. I also liked that the film was set somewhere obscure and not somewhere obvious. Although I liked it I thought it was slow in somewhere parts and boring in others.
This movie was not what I was expecting. Wes Anderson use of symmetrical shots and goofy effects aid to tell a beautifully written story about love. The complexity of the characters and intertwining storylines make this movie a true classic.
Not a bad movie, uses really bright and colorful settings around whenever you go, it also has some great camera shots that you can see the whole view instead of just looking half of it on screan but the whole view to see where they are, where it is, and what's it like. there's also close ups that make it funny to see the charaters expressions or to see what they're thinking which is funny and sometimes awkward. Overall an amazing comfortable movie!
Wes Anderson brings his patented style to a movie with delightfully dynamic characters with more emotional depth than seen in his other movies. The cinematography is incredibly precise but churns out unbelievably beautiful scenes and shots. Utilizing Zoom ins, Camera pans, Jump cuts and more are all ways Wes Anderson keeps you interested. He had to succeed in that remark because the plot was fairly slowly and honestly boring for the first half of the movie. It picked up steam in the second half and kept me watching.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I liked the symmetry in a lot of the scenes and thought the color helped make the vibe of the movie stronger. I liked all of the interesting and different characters which helped further develop the storyline. I definitely recommend this movie.
This movie was good, a little slow at the beginning ,but shows a good story with an eventful ending. The acting is good, from the big characters to the character we only see once or twice. Movie has a good film look to it with good coloring and camera shots.
This movie wasn’t horrible to watch! Some might enjoy it, it just wasn’t my favorite. I loved the crane shots in this movie so the actors look like miniatures. They also did a great job with lighting.
This movie was not at all what I was expecting but it was a brilliant story and featured all the classic Wes Anderson film techniques, i really liked the goofiness to the movie as I found it very funny
I really enjoyed this movie, the plot of the movie was very interesting. I would say the movie started off very slow but it really picked up and got interesting. I like how Wes Andersen filmed this movie with all the colors and how he films symmetrical.
I liked the color of the movie and how it’s different from most movies. Also I like the background and setting, I think it’s cool being at the camp and on the beach.
