Morgan Reviews
Has a lot in common with dozens of science-fiction stories but doesn't have any innovative ideas of its own.
| Original Score: 2/4 | Apr 11, 2022
A nasty little thriller that doesn't have anything of substance to say.
| Original Score: B | Aug 28, 2021
Unfortunately, the high point of Taylor-Joy's performance also signals the film's downfall...
| Apr 13, 2021
Designed to be a typical science-gone-awry slasher movie, only lightly decorated with thought-provoking themes on artificial persons.
| Original Score: 2/10 | Dec 5, 2020
Taken on their own, pieces of Morgan are admirable and intriguing, though the sum is much less interesting than the individual parts.
| Original Score: C | Jul 2, 2020
Morgan is a throwback sci-fi pulp piece that thinks a bit too highly of itself... Regardless, it's better than most Labor Day releases, and is sure to provide a good time at the movies as well as some food for thought afterwards.

The film's unevenness is punctuated by intense bursts of violence.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Feb 3, 2020
With a cast this good, it'd be near impossible for Morgan to be anything less than gripping. And it is, for the most part, establishing its central mystery, and odd tone, right off the bat.
| Original Score: 6/10 | Oct 8, 2019
[A] mediocre thriller.
| Original Score: D- | Apr 12, 2019
Morgan boasts a stellar ensemble, an intriguing stylistic mishmash, and history's lamest car chase.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Mar 26, 2019
'Morgan' carefully sets up a tricksy female-forward A.I. endeavor but abandons its intriguing cerebral exploration for humdrum action beats and a lame-brained, strung out third act.
| Original Score: C | Nov 11, 2018
Morgan' has some tension-filled wallop that resonates occasionally but the draggy drama never quite stimulates to the point of presenting Taylor-Joy's lab-table vixen as nothing more than a brutish brat with a temper.
| Original Score: 2/4 | Nov 9, 2018
Morgan is a film that grabs your attention and makes you question whose side you want to be on.
| Original Score: 7.5/10 | Nov 2, 2018
Morgan is impressive on many levels. It feels like a Seventies indie, made in multiple shades of moral gray, with some red blood splatter.
| Original Score: B | Oct 23, 2018
Though it benefits from cool action sequences and a great performance from Anya Taylor-Joy, "Morgan" is as bland it can be.
| Original Score: 1.5/5 | Aug 30, 2018
Morgan can't say anything meaningful about artificial intelligence because it's too artificial a film.
| Aug 27, 2018
A robotic and joyless sci-fi film that never comes alive.
| Original Score: C+ | Apr 20, 2018
The film is not without its strengths in this early part ... but before long ... whatever originality remained after the borrowed premise is completely discarded.
| Original Score: 1.5/4 | Feb 7, 2018
Morgan is an uneventful bore.
| Jan 23, 2018
The result is a mediocre showdown with a guessable twist.
