Mrs. Doubtfire Reviews
Robin Williams alone makes this film, aside from him all the characters are terrible people and it’s hard to feel happy for anyone come the end. I do think the story and some jokes have aged terribly but still find it funny overall.
I will never forgive the Academy Awards for not giving Robin Williams an Oscar for best actor for any comedy he made, let alone his sheer comedic range in this one. This film showcases the talent he had like no other and I miss him terribly.
Classic Robin Williams in drag! Hilarity ensues! A definite can't miss
One film that I wholeheartedly recommend is Mrs. Doubtfire, an absolute gem that showcases Robin Williams in a brilliant performance. He embodies the character of Mrs. Doubtfire, a lovable nanny created to stay close to his children after a difficult divorce. The lengths he goes to in order to remain a part of their lives is one of the most touching and memorable aspects of this movie. While some critics may dismiss it as merely a drag queen performance, many viewers celebrate it as an extraordinary act of love and dedication. Ultimately, the film has stood the test of time as a classic, transcending any societal judgments that may arise. It’s widely regarded as one of Williams' finest roles, beloved by audiences across the board. I challenge you to find someone who doesn’t appreciate this film on some level. Alongside Williams, the movie features notable performances from Pierce Brosnan and Sally Field, adding to its charm. If you haven't seen it yet, I strongly encourage you to give it a watch; it's truly a remarkable film.
I remember running out of the room several times watching this film because comedic close calls that are hilarious, but it also has some great scenes, too. 6.10/10
One of Robin Williams best! No one else could have done it. You just have suspend belief that anyone could actually do such an insane idea. Has a wonderful happy ending.
This flick only gets better with age.
Loved the movie and just seen the Theatre production in London and my stomach hurts from laughing!! 10 out of 10 must see
Robin Williams and all of his comedic talent can't take away from a strange plot where an obsessive and deranged ex-husband is trying to torpedo his former wife's life so he can have more time with his children Sally Fields is just too nice to play the evil ex-wife. Just doesn't work.
Mrs. Doubtfire is not only a movie with hilarious sequences but also has a heartfelt message for the society. To top it up you've Robin Williams delivering an absolute best performance. Honestly, there isn't anything to criticize.
Filled with humor and heart, and a great performance from Robin Williams.
This movie is a must-see especially for any millennial who grew up with divorced parents. I’ve loved this movie since I was a child and could relate to the kids in the movie dealing with their parents divorce. Subsequently now as an adult I see all the problematic actions of Daniel Hillard, but it’s still just as funny as the first time I saw it!
Loved Mrs Doubtfire while growing up, and still do.
4/4 It's officially a classic. Robin Williams' most memorable role, it's up there with some of the best comedies in history.
Such a cozy movie...
Mrs. Doubtfire has it all: it’s funny, heartwarming, and emotional. This is my favorite Robin Williams performance because he’s so good at portraying two entirely different roles
Very funny, and very good.
Just unreal, as I have got older it affects me more emotionally.
It stars Robin Williams, that’s how you know it is good
One of my all-time favorites. A classic. Robin Williams is a genius.
