Mumford Reviews

Philosophically, it doesn't succeed at any goal that deep. But because it doesn't take itself too seriously (and because the interaction between its players is charming and smart), Mumford works as an example of harmless fun for smart audiences.

...an easygoing and entirely agreeable piece of work that ranks near the top of Kasdan’s solid filmography.

A worthy concept only gets half-realized in this likable yet lackadaisical piece.

Director Lawrence Kasdan's small-town fable beguiles.

| Original Score: 4/5 | Nov 7, 2002

A film without conviction, about a town full of people with problems without depth, aided by a guru without soul.

| Original Score: 2.5/4 | Mar 22, 2002

Simple and sweet, but unforgivably trite.

| Original Score: short | Mar 7, 2002

An endearing portrait of a wounded healer who uses his own experiences of pain and compulsivness to help others.

| Original Score: 3/4 | Feb 27, 2001

This pleasant romantic fantasy is slight enough to go straight to cable -- to network, even.
