My Fair Lady Reviews
You must watch this amazing film! So dang funny!
Rex Harrison leads a star cast in this delightful musical. I lived the story and music. A great example of how to do a proper movie musical. Tim Treakle
Nice moments at times with the beautiful and charming Audrey leading the way BUT mediocre songs for most of the show and simply cannot compare to movies like The Sound of Music or West Side Story.
Audrey Hepburn was one of the most amazing stars and performers to ever embrace the big screen, and it definitely shows in MY FAIR LADY, a brilliant and unique musical that continues to impress audiences and music lovers alike.
Much has been said about MY FAIR LADY, but two things are clear: it’s highly outdated and marred by chauvinistic undertones, yet Hepburn delivers a committed, if somewhat grating, performance.
The four stars is purely for Audrey Hepburn's acting, and yes of course for the film production and garment design. But however, and still disappointing to watch, another film whereby audrey's character ends up with a very grossly unattractive (in every way possible) and horribly over-aged character (an extremely unlikely thing to ever occur for her character 'elisia'). As much as i do enjoy some of the earlier classics of film, if there's one true ongoing decent thing to come out of modern film writing, it's to not fuck over a decent strong and attractive female character.
My Fair Lady teaches us the power of inner beauty and grace. These virtues shine brighter than any exterior elegance and hold true worth in the eyes of God. The journey of Eliza Doolittle mirrors our own path to discovering inner worth and the grace afforded to us through faith. This remarkable tale, rich in Christian values, leaves us reflecting on the transformative power of grace in our lives. It’s more than just a musical; it’s a call to recognize and cherish the beauty within us and in those around us, guided by divine grace.
Nice adaptation of Pygmalion. Almost as good as the Wendy Hiller version (non musical). Good looking cast. Except Rex Harrison can't sing. Neither can Audry Hepburn but if they dubbed her why didn't they dub him.
Fantastic experience finally seeing this on the big screen! My only gripe was with Fathom Events presenting it in 2.39:1 rather than its full 2.2:1 aspect ratio
Masterpiece. Better than Disney nowadays.
There is nothing like an old classic.
Very enjoyable. It was fun to watch this with other movie fans.
Took my mom. We both enjoyed it. She was transported to wonderful memories!
Timeless classic! What's not to love?
Rich people are so annoying. This is why Karl Marx wrote the Communist Manifesto.
ALL TIME CLASSIC ALLWAYS
Wonderful and classic! I only knock half a star because some of the sound mixing does not match with Audrey’s face. And I’m sorry…I know he’s iconic, but I don’t buy aging Harrison as a potential romantic future for Eliza. The difference in age is so wide, the ending just leaves you with a big ‘Hunh???!!!’
Costumes, quality acting, great story. Never cared much for the ending though.
It's My Fair Lady. A must see classic. Glad to seeit on the big screen!
A classic movie. Happy that it is being released on the big screen.
