Neighbors Reviews
What it does best is nail the angst of people realising that the birth of their baby also means the death of cool.

The raunchy gags might not stop but Neighbors is a laugh riot.

Not so much a story as it is an idea played out in a series of wild gags, but good performances and some unexpected heart make it a cut above the usual frat boy fare.

Presents a talented cast and a premise brimming with potential, but manages to squander every opportunity for laughs.
| Original Score: 3/10 | Dec 4, 2020
The film's true revelation may very well be Rose Byrne.
| Original Score: 3.5/4.0 | Sep 18, 2020
"Neighbors" is raucous, rowdy, and funny as hell, but it still manages to have heart once you strip away the foul-mouthed layers.
| Original Score: B+ | Jul 8, 2020
An entertaining examination of growing up vs. growing old and how neither is necessarily the right thing to do.
| Original Score: 3.5/4 | Jul 2, 2020
This is the kind of film that will not let the sheer stupidity of a premise stand in the way of milking a couple of gags out of it. That being said, the film ends up being pretty entertaining on the strengths of its cast.

A breezy, often profane comedy that is easy enough to like.

The funniest part of watching Rogen play a man-child finally forced to grow up is realizing that he probably only has a few years left during which he can play an underachieving stoner before that character goes from comedic to tragic.

The vast majority of gags hit their mark in spectacular laugh-out-loud fashion. There's a really nice balance of the gross-out, verbal, and slapstick comedy varieties, too.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Mar 21, 2019
It's crass, crude and unapologetically vulgar. It's also pretty funny.
| Original Score: B | Feb 1, 2019
For mindless entertainment, I'd like to say it's competent enough but I can't do so. You can do a whole lot better.

The movie is stupid. That's all, no more no less. I wanted to walk out a handful of times, but stayed hoping against hope that there would be some redeeming plot twist

It's effort like this that makes Bad Neighbours that much more entertaining and not just a lazy hodgepodge of sex and stoner gags.
| Original Score: 8.5/10 | Nov 1, 2018
With engaging performances, foul debauchery masked in good taste and some hilariously evil setups; Neighbors will be playing at Delta Tau Chi for years to come.
| Original Score: 6.5/10 | Oct 15, 2018
Bad Neighbours is... a thumping, screaming, appallingly moronic comedy that will make anyone with a working pair of ears and eyes never want to see a film again.
| Original Score: 1/5 | Feb 21, 2018
If puerile and sometimes just plain stupid entertainment is what you're after you'll get it here; you'll also get plenty of laughs and have little time to think about how predictably it plays out.
| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Sep 8, 2017
The majority of the 96-minute film is the increasingly bawdy, cruel and sometimes illegal hijinks between the parents and the brothers, leading the story further away from reality.
| Original Score: C | Aug 17, 2017
Neighbors has little interest in much beyond jokes that seemed dated by the time Hangover 3 was over. It's as stale as 10-week-old pizza.
