Neighbors Reviews
Rowdy, ridiculous, and sharper than expected, Neighbors works because it knows exactly what it is. With Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne anchoring the chaos and Zac Efron bringing unexpected depth to his frat-boy role, the film finds surprising nuance beneath its outrageous set pieces. It’s a comedy that plays to the crowd without pandering — willing to be dumb, but never lazy. Thanks to some clever writing and a cast that leans all the way in, Neighbors earns its laughs and then some.
Hilarious comedy all the way through!
Neighbors (2014) delivers a raucous blend of slapstick and wit that epitomizes modern American comedy. Seth Rogen and Zac Efron's unexpected comedic chemistry shines in this tale of suburban warfare between new parents and a rowdy fraternity. Director Nicholas Stoller expertly balances crude gags with moments of surprising heart, creating a film that's more than just a series of outrageous pranks. While the humor occasionally veers into over-the-top territory, the movie's energy and the cast's commitment to the absurdity keep the laughs coming. Neighbors may not be for the faint of heart or those averse to bawdy humor, but for fans of audacious comedy, it offers a thoroughly entertaining experience that stands out in the crowded field of R-rated comedies from the 2010s.
It's pretty funny but hard for the premise to stand up to even a 1h37m runtime. It just gets repetitive and overdone. But the cast is fun and if you're looking for some college humor laughs, it's a fun time.
Reverse of what I was expecting in that the story was a little more than thought then I would have imagined. It just wasn't all that funny.
Some of the scenes were pretty intense for a comedy movie, the fraternity guys were really loud and sociopathic, but the Radners and Pete were really nice, they provided some emotional depth to the story. Overall, I thought it was okay.
I found it moderately amusing. Seeing Rogan play the "grown-up" his characters are always forced to become is a little strange, yet appropriate given his age. The concept of putting him into conflict with a younger generation is solid enough, I just wish more had been done with it.
LOL, the funniest 01 hour: and 37 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ages 17 and older!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the funniest college themed comedies I've ever seen.
For what is essentially a frat boy party comedy it's not too bad. Crude & childish at times, but still laugh out loud at times.
Love the movie, its funny, different and it just hits the spot when your looking for something good to watch. Lots of dick jokes though, there funny but get overused at certain points overall, great movie!
This is one of my favorite Seth Rogan movies ever. It's one of those that keeps you laughing the entire time. It's funny, witty, and has a great story. Unless you're an absolute prude, you will find this movie hilarious.
Another comedy film that squanders its valued potential and disappointingly transforms into an extravagant waste of time. Ambiguously sporadic which is an extremely huge let down considering the number of comedic actors.
Amusing conflict comedy when a frat house establishes next to a family with a baby.
Very funny moments, a lot of ridiculous ones. Happy I watched it but pretty forgettable.
This movie is painfully stupid and surprisingly funny. This veritable reimagining of the Belushi-Akroyd dark comedy is a funny story of a frat house that moves into a residential neighborhood and disrupts a young couple's solitude and they grapple with trying to be "cool" after having a baby. Rose Byrne, Zac Efron, and Dave Franco are fun and go with the flow. Seth Rogen's character is not believable at all, but Seth Rogen pulls it off because he is so uniquely Seth Rogen. Nicholas Stoller's direction is a little choppy but the overall look of the movie fits the energy. There is a breastfeeding scene in the movie that is very, very funny. I think expectations were very low for this but it is a more than decent comedy. Very watchable and strangely endearing.
This is a funny movie! Don't discount this movie considering what it's about. Rogen and Franco are GOLD. Rose Byrne is fantastic in this movie. Christopher mintz-plasse also has a great showing here.
This is pretty much what you'd expect, for a comedy film centering on a couple living next to what becomes a frat house, with Seth Rogen as one of the main characters. Its lewd and gross, with some amusing-ish moments. It, suffice to say, doesn't require much brain power to understand the basics of the story. Its an ok film, no more.
