Noelle Reviews
You'll have forgotten every last thing about Noelle by next Christmas, but that's almost a plus side to its flimsy charm - those baubles won't put themselves up.

Over all, Noelle is subpar - but it's silly, harmless fun. It's so forgettable it'll be virtually erased from your memory five minutes after the end credits roll.

Whatever your idea of a sentimental connect-the-dots Christmas comedy is, this is sub that.

Hader, one of the best comedic actors working today, does half-hearted, dull work as Nick. Even Billy Eichner seems muted as Gabriel Kringle, a tech nerd cousin who wants to digitize the naughty or nice list.

Noelle frequently feels like it's running in place, frantically throwing shiny objects in your face in the hope you don't lose interest. But for fans of movie depictions of Christmas, there are worse options.
| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Nov 12, 2019
Released in the middle of the busiest movie season of the year, "Noelle" is the sort of film destined to be discarded, a cheap holiday tchotchke with no staying power.

All of this doesn't add up to the warm alchemy of a Christmas classic, or a holiday movie you'd go out of your way to watch more than once, even if it is streaming.

Marc Lawrence's story about Santa's daughter, despite its solid cast, aims squarely at not-too-picky kids and mostly ignores parents' desire to be entertained as well.

Noelle has plenty of charm -- the kind that makes a Christmas story not just simply amiable, but worth a look.
