Nomadland Reviews
A very unusual movie but very good and thoughtful. McDormand was amazing.. It's not humorous or uplifting, but it is entertaining and very touching.
I wanted more insight into the mindsets of the people.
A terrific film that deconstructs the concept of home as a fixed address. McDormand is superb, the underappreciated David Strathairn a marvel. A movie that never gets sloppy, is sweet but tough minded. Bravo!
I loved it. I felt like I was the main character. I was so invested in her journey. My husband found it depressing but I felt fascinated by the comaraderie of the like minded yet very diverse travelers.
Director and actors are superior. A brilliant and original movie.
Slow at the beginning but turned out to be very interesting and refreshing. A new perspective on the existence of us human beings!
Preferred the book to the film, but the film is excellent. The book gives more background into people living as in the movie. It was worth seeing.
Great story about a facet of American society that is deeply affected by an unfortunate event as depicted by the loss of an industry and disappearance of a town
Well crafted, compelling story
Slow, but purposeful.
I enjoyed the portrayol of people who are satisfied with what they have and are not consumed with the idea that your life will be better with more material goods.
Francis was awesome! Good original story. A bit slow at times.
I really liked Francis McDermont's performance - she portrayed that character flawlessly. I also appreciate that a large number of the people shown in the film were actually van nomads in real life. Loved the scenic views - a good job of cinematography. Enjoyed the Western focus to the film.
Excellent better than the first one
Great picture, great acting a bit depressing....
Interesting story but not worthy of an Academy Award
Excellent. It has helped me make a decision in my life. Francis McDermond is an outstanding actress!!
Great film. Would definitely recommend it!
Great movie, quietly powerful
Frances McDormand remains at the top of the list of talented, a-list actors. She is an actor, not a Hollywood movie star, which allows her to embody the character without distractions, Director Zhaou brings something very new and different to the screen with this movie. The incorporation of everyday people into the movie is an interesting approach. At times, Nomadland seems a bit slow but I think that is because there is no storyline. There is no plot. Like the nomad life, the movie wanders...but it isnt boring. McDormands ability to carry this movie almost totally by herself, speaks to her superior talents.
