On Her Majesty's Secret Service Reviews
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service aims to change Bond’s usual tough guy persona by giving our hero a heart...

[George] Lazenby strikes a nice balance between self-aware humor and superspy action. It is still one of the best Bond films of all time.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service remains a fine bond film. Where the story is not super engaging and the film overall does feel long, George Lazenby is fun enough as Bond and the story is just clean enough to where you can get a bit invested in it.

George Lazenby's only 007 movie, turns out to also simply be my favorite James Bond movie of all time. [Full review in Spanish]

His fantastic adventures, which once seemed slick and incredibly daring, now come across as warmed-over leftovers; they're embarrassingly silly and weatherbeaten. The series has completely lost what little sophistication and humor it ever had.

You won't find a more tragic ending in any Bond flick.

Savalas makes a great Bond villain here as the notorious Blofeld.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Sep 25, 2020
On Her Majesty's Secret Service is pure poetry. It transcends the idea of a Bond film. Gorgeously photographed, thrillingly executed, and wonderfully performed, this is the franchise zenith.

While trying to include all of the expected constituents of a Bond picture, many elements actually slow down the pacing - creating the longest runtime yet.
| Original Score: 6/10 | Aug 27, 2020
On Her Majesty's Secret Service is the quintessential Bond film.
| Original Score: 4.5/5 | Jul 16, 2020
The movie follows, almost too much, the exact same format of Bond flicks of the mid-sixties, and shows nothing new in character development or film technique.

One of the best Bond movies of the entire series: it features cracking cinematography and there are some stupendous action sequences.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Oct 31, 2019
The single most emotionally charged and unexpectedly fulfilling entry in the entire [Bond] series.

Falls in the middle of the scale, it's not the worse, it's not the best, it's just a mix of both, just with a Bond who is often not very interesting to watch on screen...
| Original Score: 3/5 | Jan 27, 2019
The dehumanising of Bond has reached a point where pain has become the last irrelevance and he soaks up punishment with the dreadful willingness of a cartoon cat.

The sixth outing for 007 is a magnificently memorable adventure that sees Bond out to stop the dispersal of a killer virus by a bevy of beauties brainwashed by Telly Savalas's villainous Blofeld.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Nov 2, 2015
Essential Bond viewing. It should definitely be among the five Bond films to make someone a fan of the series.
| Original Score: 9.5/10 | Aug 24, 2015
Artistically, Bond's sixth entry, the only one to star Aussie George Lazenby, is much better than given credit to, though commercially it was one of the weakest.

[Concentrates] more on the man than the equipment.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Oct 23, 2012
Besides not being a terribly good Bond entry, it's also a poorly made film.
