One Life Reviews
One Life is as low-key and as humble as the man it's about. For the first hour, it’s just fine - it’s the second half that really bubbles up into something emotionally resonant.
A great movie about true heroes.
Everyone should see this outstanding movie. Anthony Hopkins is superb and it is clear that he loved the story. Otherwise, no way could he have portrayed Nicky Winton with such finesse. The story itself must not only be told but must be heard!
Amazing story. Amazing movie. We need more like this.
May be the best movie I've watched in the past 10 years. One of those movies that you easily watch soon again, just to share it with more people and enjoy it again.
The film explores serious themes with sensitivity, delivering a message that ultimately conveys hope.
Very well done and greatly moving.
Beautiful movie and very heartwarming true story. I do feel that Nicholas young had a lot of emotion where Nicholas older did not which made it hard to associate the characters together. furthermore, it made me a bit upset because I would expect them to be emotional in both cases. This lack of consistency is the only negative part of the movie but I would definitely show it to other people and friends because it is an informative and educational movie
Direção: Bom Atuação: Bom Roteiro: Bom Caracterização: Bom Soundtrack: Ok
I love the real life story, and there is nothing wrong with this movie. There’s also nothing particularly noteworthy about it. It breaks no new ground and manages to lack any kind of suspense, given how dangerous and courageous the real life act was. It’s almost as if the characters faced no real obstacles through the whole endeavor, as if the writers were projecting the ending in every scene.
A simply excellent story and very well conveyed on screen via the plethora of talent on display.
Timely and Timeless. Superbly done. Acting, editing, story line ... all of it. This piece will make you think, cry, and be angered at the human condition... but also feel good about the generous souls amongst us.
Remarkable movie about a remarkable human being. Watched it once myself and then again with friends and family. We all loved it!
This movie is so hard to watch, the amount of injustice and anger that produce is unbelievable. The performance of Mr. Hopkins is remarkable and spectacular, he is a living legend.
A true hidden gem and a story that needs to be heard, it's not an epic, it's human and a real champion of what one ordinary can achieve in the face of the extreme.
I felt like the whole movie was just a set up for the climax. I also felt like some details were missing as to how they got them out. It was also a little jarring going from past to present. I thought there lacked pacing. There was no flair to the movie.
Anthony Hopkins delivers a superb performance, embodying the role with such depth that it’s hard to imagine anyone else in his place. The production design is equally impressive; the carefully crafted sets and cinematography effectively capture the era, setting, and essence of the protagonist’s career, enhancing the narrative beautifully. Having known of the true story and seen the original interview, I found this film’s recreation both powerful and emotionally resonant. The storytelling is compelling from start to finish, filling in details and answering questions about how this remarkable event unfolded. Highly recommended for anyone interested in an evocative, well-executed portrayal of a profound true story.
An endearingly respectful, if maybe too subtle, holocaust survival story that takes an ‘80s talk show clip you may have only seen recently on Instagram (at least I did), and tells the full story in every vital detail.
Brilliant movie.Superb performance from Anthony Hopkins
Absolutely beautiful film. An extremely powerful "based on a true story" film that is guaranteed to bring tears to those eyes.
