Out of Time Reviews
Has just enough Denzel juice to get charge through a weak setup and actual braindead side charactersand deliver a solid 2nd and 3rd act. Denzel is the only reason this remotelt worked.
I was super into it for the first half, but it kind of lost me near the end. Still a good enough movie, but I felt like it could have had a more interesting second half.
Denzel gets had by a married woman he shouldn't be sleeping with. Then has to stay 2 steps ahead of Eva Mendes in trying to right his wrongs.
Zeher 2005 is a hindi movie. I think Zeher 2005 movie made impressing Out of Time 2003. Hmmm that's great. Here's the another prove, Hollywood Movie is Hollywood Movie.
My least favorite Denzel movie because it was way to predictable for my liking.
The tension of Denzel being caught out was palatable but bigger than the end twist which became a bit predictable. A highlight being the loyal best friend!
A criminally underrated movie ... Coherent Screenplay ... Perfect Pace & Outstanding performances
You know that film that doesn't promise anything, but delivers a truly cinema-worthy film?
I really enjoyed this movie. It was fast paced, mysterious & kept me on the edge of my seat.
The neo noir mystery was just okay. I expected something a bit bigger with the plot twists and turns. Denzel Washington is great as usual. Eva Mendes is phenomenal next to Sanaa Lathan. The Florida setting makes for a good backdrop. There’s better films like this that grabbed my interest a lot more. This was just passable.
There's no reason not to enjoy this Denzel Washington-led thriller with its fast pace and intriguing mystery.
Such an underrated gem, Denzel Washington never turns in a bad performance, elevated this movie with his charisma and acting.
Not one of Denzel’s best. Stick to his classics
Denzel is vulnerable and Mendez is sharp and sweet, making for an attractive ride along with levity from their buds.
As a long time resident of southwest Florida (I live near the filming locations of "Out of Time"), I'm always amused by the way the area is portrayed by Hollywood. It looks steamy and mosquito-ridden. Everybody sweats a lot because they have their windows open–which happens only infrequently in reality. Down here, your air conditioner is the most important appliance in your house. So I watched "Out of Time" with a jaded eye. Most of it was filmed in Boca Grande, an expensive, quaint seaside village renamed Banyan Key for the film. Denzel Washigton plays Matt Whitlock, the local police chief, who's having an affair with the sultry Ann Harrison (Sanaa Lathan). She's married to Chris (Dean Cain), an edgy and jealous white guy. To complete the quadrangle, Matt's estranged wife Alexandra (Eva Mendes) is a detective in the police department, so there are frequent uncomfortable encounters at work. The fact that three of the players here are black residents automatically strains credibility. I can attest that the only black people on the islands of southwest Florida are servants of the rich. Boca Grande looks good, with its weathered white clapboard cottages and sky blue water. And Washington looks good, of course. The soundtrack music is the requisite Latin stuff with lots of steel drums and congas. Plausibility-wise, "Out of Time" is about on par with "Body Heat" and a half dozen other Florida noir flicks. Ann learns that she has terminal cancer, and her doctor suggests some experimental treatments that cost a fortune. Well, it just so happens that Matt has several hundred grand in confiscated drug money in a safe at the cop station. So he steals it and makes plans to run away with Ann. Meanwhile, Chris suspects him of fooling around with his wife. Then, on the night Matt is supposed to meet Ann and make their getaway, her house burns to the ground–with her and Chris inside. Matt becomes a suspect, and twists ensue. Washington is his usual reliable self, but John Billingsley turns in the most enjoyable performance as the nerdy medical examiner, providing some much-appreciated comic relief. There are enough surprises in the story to keep you watching–as long as you understand what you're getting: a "Body Heat" genre film, more clever than most, complete with implausibility and plot holes.
Interesting joyous mystery thriller, so buckle-up & enjoy the fun ride. The chef needs to cover-up his trace every corner he turn buying time while solving his own case to proof his innocent at the sametime.
If you are someone who constantly finds themselves frustratingly exclaiming, "... but that could never happen!" when watching movies, this one will probably have you tearing your hair out. I was still entertained watching Denzel continuously get himself out of another more ridiculous predicament than the last.
Denzel really is the best ever to do this
The typical Denzel movie
