Paul, Apostle of Christ Reviews
I found this on Amazon prime. This is an amazing film and I am shocked that I have never seen it. It was beautiful and brilliant and I bawled like a baby at the end. Paul was an amazing disciple of Christ and his letters are read constantly as part of the mass. This has made me get my bible and begin reading Acts,

Christian movies are never going to be 100% accurate so that's always an expectation before hand. I must say this movie had me engaged from start to finish. Even though we know how the story ends, it's still disappointing to see the loss of life, Paul's and the other prisoners in such a gruesome fashion.
Finally, a film that portrays Christianity in the truest form, not a campy, over the top happy way. Elements of realism, similar to ‘Andrei Rublev’
Hands down, one of the best movies i have ever seen, great acting and the most important message.
Bible movies and Christian based films are already a hit or miss Sadly this movie took a miss and was not clearly enjoyable the way it was intended
Inspirador. Único e atual.
not in accordance with the story of the version in Islam
It's inspiring ! And a special movie
Incredible movie. Paul's character was the closest I've seen to any NT rendition of him. This movie captures first century persecution for Christians in Rome better than I've seen in any Christian movie. Although it clearly took liberties historically in many events, it was very accurate as to what most likely was going on in the church at Rome during the time of Paul's imprisonment, and during Neronian persecution.
Absolutely amazing and captivating film!
3 and a half out of 5. This depiction of Paul is a beauty, and the drama of it is well enough but could be better. It is a powerful film with the different letters by Paul being depicted in where it leads to the power of God overtaking evil at the end of the film in great ways. It is also touching too. Everyone should be watching this in these end times before Revelation! Jesus is our only hope!
Uninteresting characters who are just sitting there talking throughout the entire movie. Had a bad time watching and do not recommend it. The most boring movie I've watched in a long time.
All the experiences Paul had you'd think a movie with his name in the title would actually be about him. It's not, it's about Luke, Priscilla and Aquilla. It starts of promising then becomes increasingly repetitive and ends up going nowhere. Right at the start they show you Christians being lit up as torches on the street. The rest f the movie is about who gets lit up next. If the movie was entitled Christian Martyrs, then you'd have different expectations going in. Paul, Apostle of Christ needs more Paul Apostle of Christ.
While most movie goers/viewers might expect a hero's journey or a majestic telling of Paul, the viewer is treated to a very real, human journey into the emotional trials of being imprisoned for doing great works even though Paul knows he is quite the anti-hero. And the establishment of the day (i.e. Rome) believes in a life without Christ will always find fault with the faithful and thus anticipate insurrections, resistance, etc. And instead of the typical expectations of sensationalized violence, fighting and triumph, the viewer (if seriously invested in this depiction and honest with themselves) will experience a push of one's attention in the right direction -- toward Jesus, the things of Heaven, and the never-ending invitation to live in love and faith.
St. Paul's story transcribed to St Luke. The barbarity of Roman treatment of Christians is all here. The challenge faced by Christians to not only carry on, but to also, following Christ's directive, love their enemies. Huge. What I found riveting was the extraordinarily skilled acting and directing. This movie not only had outstanding content, but was an absolute joy to watch.
Great movie and cast as it tells the story of the Apostle Paul with the aid of Luke who wrote Acts, but, has some dark moments and the horrors Christians faced before the road to Damascus.
