People Like Us Reviews
Um filme sensível, forte mais ao tempo um filme doce. Pfeiifer e Pine estão ótimos.
When dad passes, Banks and Pine find out their dad had more than one family. A little melodramatic, People Like Us is still a good watch with some strong leads.
I'm just watching this now Feb 25, 2024. I like the story the excitement on how he gonna tell her the truth. Really good movie.
Competently made & acted by attractive actors Chris Pine & Elizabeth Warren, emotional enough, but it just doesn't stand out in the crowd.
2.4. Honestly liked the first half than it just dragged on
Good general story, has heart, funny, good acting and ends just right. Great for the Sunday rainy afternoon with someone special.
I must be in some sort of fog because I seriously cannot understand why the critics didn't like this movie. I thought it was funny, tense, real, sad, troubling and poingnant. I felt sad for Frankie and understood Sam's struggle. ... I
I Was completely blown away by this movie and by every single performance. The plot may sound cliché but nothing is handled in a predictable or unreal fashion. Overall there's a lot to digest about this film, one thing for sure, if you lean into it and give this movie your time and undivided attention you will not be sorry that you saw it.As that being said I give " People Like Us " a B-.
Funny, smart, poignant, well directed, great performances from the entire cast. Nothing I usually expect out of Hollywood LOL!
This is not just a movie, this is happening all around the world. If you are living in a less privilege country this is very realistic and natural. Unless your family is perfect and I doubt that.
I'm slowly becoming a Chris Pine fan. This movie was never on my radar and honestly, it's not the greatest movie I've ever seen, but Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks are fantastic. The story is actually kind of fresh and not a concept that I've seen done a million times and that was really pleasing. The only thing that wasn't fresh was the way it was shot, it honestly felt like I was watching an episode of Parenthood with the lighting and the sets, not necessarily a bad thing, but it had a Television vibe for me. The acting in it was great and it had moments of brilliance, but it also had moments that seemed odd once the film was finished. There was a major plot point that they kept nagging at throughout the film, but it never gets resolved for some point? (The whole FTC thing). Overall I really enjoyed this film and it is a great date night kind of movie, would definitely watch again and would suggest, especially to my married friends.
I don't know HOW this gt such a low score - critics needs to RELAX - I have watched this 5 times I liked it so much. Cute fluff, great rivalry, romantic, etc.
A perfect feelgood movie, A great chemistry between Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks, perfect other cast, an (fairly) original story (no love story in the romantic sense), very well done and likable. I mean: there is Elizabeth Banks in it, how can it be bad? I simply adore her and love watching movies with her.
Drivel. It had the potential to be a better film, but it became too drawn out, too spoon-fed, too "Hollywood."
The actors did fine at portraying their characters. There was just nothing about the characters or the story I cared enough about to watch the entire film. Glad I didn't spend money to see it.
Loved this. Although parts are a bit contrived, overall it touchingly portrays the complexities of parent child, marriage and romantic relationships. The central story is a rare love story between a brother and sister who didn't know the other existed until their father's death. The music and excellent acting only add to the pleasure of watching this film.
It could be that this film touched my heart so strongly because I am adopted and eventually met both my 1/2 sisters with different father and the other a different mother when we were older. It is crazy, and unsettling and off putting and asks tons of questions - and this movie addresses a lot of those feelings. I thought the acting was great and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
This Movie is such a breath of Fresh air. That only 50% of our so called movie Critics liked it and only 62% of the audiences (admitted they) liked It says more than anything I could ever say. The horrific state of movies today where blood, gore, sex and computer graphics masqerade as entertainment to the delight and support of critics and audiences, we watch bewildered and depressed as movie after movie makes little sense, offers little entertainment, cheapens us by deadening our emotions and de-sensitizing adnauseum. People like us tells a real story, with real emotions, with characters who make sense. The movie is full of, no pun intended, People Like us who make mistakes, behave selfeshly, lovingly, angrily, wishfully, live their lives doing the best they can do, playing the hand they were dealt and cherishing their family through thick and thin.. Great acting (elizabeth banks is amazing) by all, great directing and obviously Producers who had way more commmon sense then the critics and a lot of the audiences. This movie shoud be ...is... A classic.
