Impossível ficar indiferente a este filme

All Time Classic. The one shortcoming is the music is good but it really isn't used that often and it isn't that memorable on it's own. The film isn't dry in the slightest though. The ending is really good too and very smartly written bu it does drag out just alittle bit. I would'nt change a thing though honestly. Everything else is masterful. It weaves between Costner & the boy / Eastwood and his team perfectly never feeling like stuff jsut happens. Everything follows a logical and unpredictable trail as the Marshalls follow in pursuit and investigate This film belongs to Costner & the Boy. They are amazing together and recall films like Paper Moon to me. A truly odd pairing that have more in common than you'd think at first glance and are united in their loneliness, not fitting in, and being caught up in the moment. Amazing direciton by Eastwood and first rate cinematography. This is a crime drama and a road movie together that work together effortlessly. It's sad and you know this isn't going to end well but you can't help but like these characters, be riveted by them, and feel something at almost every turn. Everyone should give this a try once.

Quaint movie, a bit cliched, a bit slow, a bit long, a bit sappy, a bit maudlin, but okay. Two chalk-and-cheese inmates with differing natures escape jail but involve themselves with the locals instead of getting clear, with consequences. Clint Eastwood tries to clear up the mess.

this is a good movie. I dont generally like kevin costner films but he is excellent in this. I like clint eastwood and he is on form. Simple movie but acted so well you dont realise until after the film ends. There are funny moments too in the details. The first 15 minutes sets up the characters so well you just look forward to seeing the story unfold as they interact.... and its suprisingly emotional for this genre.

An interesting approach of how the system fails and how the presumptions and prejudices doesn't helps to make a friendly society… oh and Kevin Costner is the best.

one of the greatest movies ever made, deserves a much higher score

I watched this on DVD recently. I enjoyed the story and found the film absorbing to watch. The acting is first rate and the character development is excellent. I particularly liked the contrast between the relationships which developed on either side of the law. Both sides had difficulties getting on at first, but ironically by the end of the film the hostage and his kidnapper formed the strongest bond. The stunts and action were effectively integrated within the plot which added excitement without losing focus on the story. Despite the long runtime, I found the film to pass by quickly, and thought it was well paced. Highly recommended.

On the road con un criminale che non si può odiare, per cui anzi si finisce a fare il tifo nonostante il suo lato dark che lo rende comunque molto credibile. Le ambientazioni ed i personaggi sono vari e danno colore e tono ad ogni sequenza, rendendo la fuga più centrale ancora dei personaggi e dei dialoghi. Questa scelta si rivela vincente, ponendo in secondo piano il ragazzino i cui dialoghi, se più centrali, avrebbero rallentato la pellicola ed annoiato. Il finale poi è romantico e commovente, trovata la perfetta location in un bellissimo prato verde, dopo la sequenza chiave a casa dell'ultima famiglia ad "ospitare" i due protagonisti.

No country for broken boys! Definitely not Clint Eastwood's best work, but can't deny the fact that "A Perfect World" is a funny and sentimental drama, filled with a lot of heart and charisma that make it the most moving and uplifting film he has ever directed.

A surprisingly delicate exploration of masculinity, A Perfect World is among the more critically acclaimed of Eastwood's films as a director, even if his character's role is definitely second fiddle to Costner's Butch and T.J. Lowther's Buzz. Together, the pair that have each lacked a father figure go from an unlikely hostage and captor to road buddies, challenging one another's beliefs about friendship, family, and life. If that sounds a little bit hokey and formulaic, it is to some extent (writer John Lee Hancock has among his output films like The Blind Side), but there's also some unexpected tenderness to the relationship between the pair and their character development together. Actually among Costner's better performances as well. If there's a big problem with the film, it's length. There's a half hour or so that needs to be trimmed, particularly with respect to the film's final act. (3/5)

too much kid in this movie

I'm a little split on 'A Perfect World', but one thing that is for certain is that I definitely enjoyed watching it. The reason that I'm split is because of how it portrays the lead character. I completely get the angle the filmmakers were going for, I'm just not convinced they pull it off. It's fun to watch, but I never once felt a connection to root for Kevin Costner's Butch. There are many a time where I was just like "Huh?". It shows a number of events that you can tell are supposed to make you connect to Butch, but I just couldn't - he is super unlikeable, like the very first thing we see him do 'on the outside' defines him and the whole film. They could've wrote him in so many different ways, to give him a positive reason for what he does. Yet, despite that it is entertaining, I cannot deny. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it works as a film for sure, but given it tries (too hard?) to attempt thought-provoking and deeper meaning I think it falls over itself - logically, I couldn't get on board. As a popcorn flick, I'm all in. P.S. How amusing to see the 'Casper' connection, given the directing/acting Clint Eastwood would later make a cameo in the live-action film almost two years after this was released.

I thought it was a Powerful Point in a Bad Situation. Love Kevin, Great acting on Both Actors Part.

Very good film about a prison escapee who takes a young boy hostage and ends up forming a kind of father-son bond. Doesn't end with quite the punch it starts with, but it's one of Costner's better efforts.

Kevin Costner is very comforting even when he’s a bad guy 4.0. For the most part of the movie that is ....

This is kind of a forgotten Eastwood film from the 90's, but it might be one of his best movies. Easily one of Kevin Costner's finest performances. It is a great story about a father-son bond between a career criminal and the kid that he kidnaps. The only thing that holds it back from being a 5 star film are some of the cliched characters in the supporting cast.

Saw this a long time ago and I remember it to be compelling.
