Excellant character creation. A great big apple, feel good story.

Although this film has its moments, it is too much like Seinfeld, which I don't enjoy. Also get tired of plots (?) about "average" New Yorkers.

This film just tickled me and gave me the giggles. It has good characters and good dialouge. The characters are really easy to invest in, they seem as genuine rounded people outwith the bounds of a movie, not just characters. The transitions from character to character are really smooth and the whole film is just breezy and smooth. All of the actors give good performances. It is also reminicsent of the 90's. I remember there being a lot of these types of movies about people's lives in the 90's but you don't see them as much anymore. This one is a good example and pulled off well. The stories that are showcased are all interesting. The ending is slightly meh but I suppose it is hard to transport into random people's lives and then leave on any kind of crescendo, the subject matter does not allow for it. I really enjoyed this movie.

Off beat and hilarious. This is a gem of an indie film. Funny, sweet and deep.

A quirky, retro New York comedy that follows a day in the life of several New Yorkers. It is not for everybody and the characters articulate their feelings and opinions in ways that are totally artificial, but that is one of the reasons why I found "Person to Person" absolutely amusing to watch. This is a well-written, well-acted observational comedy and once you accept its offbeat charm, you will have a kick out of it. Probably one of the most underrated films you'll see this year. I liked it a lot.

Person to Person Premiering at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, it is just possible the film "Person to Person," written and directed by Dustin Guy Defa, will usher in a new wave of film making. It is one of the most unique, fully realized films I've ever seen. At each moment, "Person to Person" stays true to its characters' lives from beginning to end. It is a deeply felt, deeply feeling film, never shying away from delving deeper into each character's emotional life in a manner that is almost Shakespearean. In that way it constantly surprises. Every moment when you fear it's about to slide into something patent or untrue, it brings you deeper into the story and into its characters' lives. The acting is uniformly flawless, emotional true, closely held, never forced. Bene Coopersmith and Tavi Gevinson are particular standouts, as is the always excellent Philip Baker Hall. The characters evolve in short monologues, never once running away from the emotional dilemma's life leads them to, the characters dig into themselves, struggling to unveil their inner life. In that way, the script is akin to Shakespeare's monologues wherein the characters' ruminate on their dilemmas, their inner lives, and illuminate us. It is a small miracle of a film that will delight you and, most remarkably, might, as all great art can do, deepen your humanity.
