PG: Psycho Goreman Reviews
Frig yourself for an awesome vibe of gore, 80's B movie, Stranger Things & Power Rangers like.
This was like power rangers/GWAR crazy with super awesome gore. Felt like "Deathgasm". Good movie, loads of fun.
If you can shut your brain off for 90 minutes and like cheap gore, you may find enjoyment here. However, if you can't, you will probably be pulling your hair out 20 minutes into the film. Low quality costumes, cheesy to flatly stupid writing, characters whose personalities seem to drastically change half way through the film, and a lead that is wholly unlikeable after the first ten minutes. Watch it for the sheer camp value if you like that sort of thing, but avoid at all costs if you don't.
If you're the generation that grew up with Power Rangers and you're a bit demented, you're gonna love this!! Don't expect any morals and ethics, this is just good old-fashioned 80s/90's style camp horror. It showcases all the death scenes I long for growing up with P.R as a grown adult now. There's some moments you're just so disgusted with the special effects, and then you're just rip roaring laughing. Did I mention it includes an original 80's hair metal song? Just watch the dang movie, it's not meant to be deep.
Overall, suppose you're seeking a horror film that's highly brainless, witty and packed with fun levels of creativity in the story, costumes and violence. In that case, Psycho Goreman will deliver some wild entertainment on your big screen. Thanks to many aspects, the film also delivers a fun retro vibe through the instrumental rock soundtrack and a story that left me wanting to see more, especially regarding the leading monster Psycho Goreman. Any issues I have with this film are generally minor and quite forgiving. Having seen the film several times now, I enjoy its level of dark comedy more and more with each rewatch and find myself admiring all that is on display, including the huge effort that has gone into it and the cleverness.
Absolutely brilliant writing. So many subtle hilarious moments. Such a simple gem of entertainment.
Absolutely ridiculous movie…but my 20 year old daughter and I were up for something silly and this fit the bill. If you are looking for a brainless hour and half of fun and stupidity, this is it. Enjoy this bonkers movie!
Brought me back to my childhood. It has a lot of flaws and overcomes them with buckets of charm. Good if you after a silly time.
This is like a combination of anime and Giallo horror. It is scary gory and laugh out loud funny. Some might call that tone whiplash but I think they handle the balance pretty well. More scary than funny but when it's funny, it's really funny. Also that Mimi kid is scary without looking like a monster. Wednesday Addams would tell her to tune down the creep factor. I wish the ending was slightly better but it doesn't ruin it. A fun, funny and disturbing horror comedy.
Power Rangers meets Gwar. Tons of gore with practical effects. The few computer effects are purposefully awful. It's campy, fun and doesn't take itself too seriously.
Super gory and campy, lots of fun
An enjoyable movie with just enough to keep you entertained. Liked the performance of the lead actor (young female kid).
HUNKY BOYS!!! Absolutely love this campy horror comedy! It's like Power Rangers with gore and adult humor.
So, a cheap production with just 2 or 3 good jokes and a lot of improvisation, bad actuation, a history of nonse but a lot of gore, so that works for the critic and mediocre millenials.
Imagine a couple of teens in the 80s have an idea for a movie and are given the budget to make it - this is the feeling I got from the creators of this film. Don't take it seriously and have fun with it - and I would say it is a rare comedy horror film that kids and adults alike can enjoy - it isn't too scary or too smart for kids and it isn't too childish for adults. The girl who played the main character was fantastic - often times in comedies child actors have trouble being funny - but she was very entertaining. Hopefully she will appear in more, I could imagine her fitting well into the Stranger Things cast. If you are a fan of 1980s SFX, cheesy Power Rangers style villains and Rick & Morty style snappy dialogue this is the horror comedy for you. If you are expecting to be scared, stop expecting that, then watch the movie.
FREAKING LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! Officially the second best thing I've seen in 2021... and probably ever come to think of it. A brilliant collaboration of old school Saturday morning cartoons, Power Rangers and 80s sci-fi horror, with great characters and the best and most creative array of physical costume effects I've seen in a long time. Can't recommend enough!
