One of the most beautiful movies I have seen.

This is quite a touching film - its quite subtle but that's by no means a bad thing. The story is intriguing and its very much a film about the social awkwardness felt by children/grandchildren at the expectations their relatives have for them and how they really feel. The script is good and the performances are good too. There's some amusing moments (lightly amusing, not big belly laugh funny but that's ok) and some thought provoking moments too. I liked the granny, what she said and how she acted at times - it made me smile. Its thought provoking and somehow rather poignant. I liked the imagery presented by what characters describe as being in their thoughts. Of course there's also some nice shots of the indian landscape - it gives a good insight into traditional Indian values I suppose. Generally I'd say it has a nice 'warmth' to it. Yes, I'd recommend this film.

Good actor casting. All the actor's did wonderful job.

The streets of Mumbai are the star attraction of this overly buttoned-down but well-made love story, and the scene-stealing grandma does her best to liven things up between the inert lead actors. Yet I still enjoyed it despite its lack of energy.

My absolute new favorite movie. It was so endearing. I found all the characters so damn interesting. Beautiful flick. Can't wait to see it again. The sooner the better.

It was boring and bad cheese acting. I don't recommend it at all

Awkward, slow moving, lots of silent uncomfortable pauses. The flash back portions seemed somewhat more true to real life.

Modern black love at its finest!

This romantic realistic film was great. I loved being able to relate to the characters. Love is hard, moms are crazy, but we also have to realize they are just people with the same pain. It was cute, I cried, I felt things.

Nice film. Well intentioned not salacious nor packed with the usual stereotypes. Well cast and nice to see black love succeed. Beautiful soundtrack. Very enjoyable.

Was so excited about this film...very disappointing! The storyline fell flat and didn't land.

This is a subtle and lovely film about two gentle souls and the currents of family and friends who swirl around them as they navigate life and expectations. I cannot explain how it was both gentle and powerful. It took my breath away. I will watch it again.

short and no songs, perfect... but the ending was kinda known throughout the movie and the "sad" expressions were depressing to watch for an hour.

The movie was simple and sincere. It is a great follow up to Lunchbox, albeit not that level. The story had heart, reality and a simplicity to it that is unseen in recent cinema. The characters were well built with enough history, pain, honesty and future. Must watch for people looking for good indian cinema.

A beautiful love story told with an honest approach...a tale so predictable and routine but with a treatment so unique...you are engrossed into the characters right away...It takes it's own sweet time to develop, but when it does, boy does it work so well...but it will split the audience right down the middle...some people will hate it right away, some will love it and disown it at the end and some will cherish it forever... in this day and age of instant gratification...the run for beginning and the end of something, we forget that sometimes the journey is more worthwhile than the destination....and that's the only way i could explain this movie ending....if we can call it that... Silence speaks a lot in this film...and the background score is terrific too, so is the photography...it compliments the story so well .. terrific performances from the leads.... both Nawaz and Sanya, but she outshines in this one, a nice surprise.... This is a tale of two introverted souls, climbing gingerly out of their own lives silent sadness by a chance encounter that turns into love ... The leads characters develop slowly as the film progresses ( like a photograph ) .... except for the missed possible what wud have been a memorable campa cola scene for which i will never forgive ritesh batra in my life...i will give this film 4.5/5 stars.... Movie has it's uneven tones here and there but i willing to overlook that...

Nice, but not even close to The Lunchbox (a small masterpiece). See that first.

Too slow. Audio is too loud in some scenes and too low in others, you can barely hear the actress at all.
