Pick of the Litter Reviews
Pick of the Litter is recommended viewing by the Assistance Dogs of Hawaii for everyone who will be raising their puppies and preparing them to be service dogs. They are asked to watch this before they receive their puppies for training. This documentary is not just an entertainment piece but helps new puppy raisers to know what they will be getting into and shows new and experienced puppy raisers how to do certain activities such as "cradling" the puppy when conditioning it to having its nails trimmed. I would recommend it to anyone who will be getting a puppy - whether they are getting their first puppy or have decades of puppy experience. (disclaimer: I am not with the ADH but have a friend who is and am so glad she told me about this documentary).
Aww! Great storytelling. It was the cutest game show with a nice balance of informative and heartwarming moments. It made me reflect with gratitude on the beauty of love and friendship that shows up in our connections with other intelligent animals.
As long as you don't mind tragic/super sad endings, it's a pretty good time!
I am livid. My 7yo was watching this and I assumed it was a safe show for her to watch. It's just puppies being trained as service animals, right? Nope. One guy comes on and starts talking about being transsexual, ect. What the actual hell. We had to have a talk with our child about this crap. Never again will we watch this show and Disney + in general is really close to being canceled.
The litter they followed were black/yellow labs. Molly was visiting at the time and many of them really looked like Molly. That made it interesting. Interesting and engaging.
One of the best documentaries around!
Was wary that it might be maudlin and propagandistic. I like how they flash back to earlier footage as they follow the path of each puppy in the litter.
It's an amazing journey, you understand how tought it is for the rasing and training of a guide dog.
A beautiful display of the amazing bond between human and canine. I had no idea about the process that dogs and people have to go through to become a guide dog and this documentary explains it in a heartwarming and tactful way.
Good documdntary on dogs for the blind anndn how the organization breeds and trains them as guide dogs. If they don't measure up as a guide dog, the dogs can become therapy dogs for PTSD, diabetes, or other illnensses.
Big takeaway don’t name your dog patriot.
An Award-winning documentary about what it takes to make a guide dog for the blind. Not to be missed.
PICK OF THE LITTER is an ideal family movie for these school holidays. Congratulations to Don Hardy Jr. and Dana Nachman for spending two years making this movie and following the Five P's around. Guide Dogs are essential to people with a sight disability and the dogs are the heroes that are always there for them. The movie is as cute as it is entertaining and educational, I cannot recommend it enough. Full review is now up on Salty Popcorn.
We learn how a guide dog can qualify to become one from birth through trainers and raisers, cuteness overload.
Maybe they have chance, these little puppies and also others :'( who have not their house :( . I like the movie so much... this doc-movie have a place in my movie list on boxxy software app.
