Piranha 3DD Reviews
'Piranha 3DD' is worse than predecessor 'Piranha 3D', yet I'd say it actually has moments that I'll somewhat remember (unlike the prior entry). There are three bits I minorly liked: Ving Rhames, David Hasselhoff and the David Koechner head gag. That is literally it, though. It's a bad movie, no question. It even feels like a pale imitation of the previous flick, which is quite something given that 2010 release isn't even anything good itself. The humans in this are extremely dull, while the piranha barely registered to me whilst watching. At least the run time is short. Danielle Panabaker is 'the best' cast member, aside from Rhames and Hasselhoff who steal the show with comparatively small roles. Adrian Martinez's character almost works, while I did like seeing Christopher Lloyd return. Interesting to see Matt Lintz, way before his role in 'The Walking Dead'. Also, and I know I'm taking the lore of these things too seriously by saying this, but weren't the piranha supposed to be massive in this one; based on the end of the first film. This second movie ends with a tease of walking piranha, which is just as lousy an idea as the flying piranha from 'Piranha II: The Spawning'. Thankfully, the aforementioned didn't happen as this didn't get a sequel. How long we giving it until someone somewhere decides to remake 'Piranha' for a third time? My money's on 2030.
They managed to make something that was already horrible, something dark worse.
Piranha 3DD 2012 Comedy Horror Comedy Thriller and Comedy Mystery
Cette suite tombe excessivement dans la comédie pas forcément drôle à tout les moments. Il reste quand même divertissant malgré le jeu des acteurs catastrophiques et une intrigue qui ne tient pas debout.
The original wasn't good, this is worse.
This was just too funny. I laughed a ton. This is definitely not meant to be taken too seriously.
much worse than the first; but still a few fun scenes.
Don't get me wrong… I figured this would be dumb, but this is F***ING STUPID! Seriously! This was written for 1985 when teen audiences would have just been happy they saw some boobs.
Still a good mindless change of pace with no thinking required but with less gratuitousness, gruesomeness and gore as it's predecessor and central characters that are not as impactful and compelling as the first despite some returning faces and a couple new ones, this explains why they did not make a third.
Now what the heck is this absolutely awful! I gotta give it a one star at least that’s being nice of me!
One of the worst films ever made - and not in a good way The first Piranha surprised audiences in 2010 with its wit, over the top nudity, and excessive gore. It never took itself seriously and had a solid cast. This follow-up to the 2010 movie is just honestly embarrassing. It had all the elements that the first movie had, but everything goes horribly wrong with incompetent direction, laughably bad acting and dialogue, and some of the cheapest gore effects I've ever seen. Why is this movie so bad? Let's start with the plot - there is none. If you can buy the premise that piranhas are going to go in underground lakes and somehow end up in a water park swimming, well then I have a bridge to sell you as well. The characters are all terrible. The one couple in the van early on exists only to die, no other purpose, no even attempted development. Yet later we see other characters mourning their disappearance, only it's forgotten 5 minutes later. The one scene that people will probably remember involves a girl that had a piranha swim up her lady parts (and somehow survive) only to bite her boyfriend's penis during intercourse. Trying to be inventive there, but really just shows the lack of any restraint with this movie. But even if you think the plot and acting are atrocious, at least there will be good gore, right? Wrong. The gore effects can be described in one word: cheap. The special effects with the piranhas are terrible too - you wonder where they spent $20 million on this movie. Not to mention, the inevitable massacre scene is shot so poorly that it has zero coherence and lacks any punch. It looks like they just poured some red dye in the pool and hired a few extras to flop around. The massacre scene in the first film had some of the best gore effects I'd ever seen. This is a joke of a follow-up. So which actors disgraced themselves for a paycheck? There is a cameo by David Hasselhoff where he's basically mocking himself, but you have to wonder what is going through his head when his character mutters "Welcome to rock bottom." I wonder if the irony is lost on this man. David Koechner is just obnoxious and terrible. Jerry O'Connell played this type of character way better in the first film. Every time Koechner was on screen, I was just wanting him to get killed off already. And also surprisingly, we don't even get any good nudity. All the extras they hired for this movie look like washed up strippers. None of the cute female leads goes topless. Maybe they ran out of budget and couldn't pay them enough to do it. I have a feeling that 95% of the people involved in this film will ever have meaningful work in Hollywood again (thankfully). Don't waste your time.
Lindo, cens muito bem gravadas, amei os detalhes, pricipalmente a cabeca do pau daquele cara q cortou o proprio pinto, amei o filme e as cenas do outro tipo e piranha ;)
is one of the worst films of the decade. There is no way to like this movie, he is terrible, spoiled a movie that was good
This is a perfect example of a B-Rated horror film that is made so lazy it’s unwatchable. The first Piranha film was enjoyable and fun, this is a disaster. First off the acting is lazy, the effects are cheap, the story is not that creative. The biggest complaint I have is that this film recycles shots from the first film. There is actual shots of the piranha from the first film, put into this film and they are pretending like people would not notice. This is easily one of the laziest films I’ve ever watched, which is disappointing because if done right this could have been a great sequel.
People are idiots. This movie isn't as good as its predecessor but it absolutely delivers on everything you'd want or expect going into it. I guess I understand why it has a low critic score but the audience score should be near perfect. What did these people who rated it so poorly expect? If you want to see a dumb horror comedy with topless girls and flesh-eating fish, this is it.
Good watch, will likely watch again, and can recommend. Compared to even the 1995 version, this version definitely increased the amount of nudity and gore, or at least blood in this. Since this is more of a comedy-horror, having a waterpark "going wild" be the setting for this particular creature actually works out quite a bit. You'd think once the killing starts that the comedy might stop, it has laughs all the way through, and while they're not necessarily all "classy" jokes, this isn't really a "classy" movie. I'm honestly surprised (but grateful) to see Danielle Panabaker in this one as she does a somewhat "straight man" role, she's carrying most of the actual emotion in this movie. It's not a typical role for what I'm used to seeing her in, but she's does a great job as she's a quality actress. David Koechner leads the humor (and he's good at it) of the movie with some solid help from the rest of the cast. David Hasselhoff, Christopher Lloyd and Ving Rhames even make cameos. There isn't much to this movie, there's water, fish, and people, and some combination of them to various degrees of humor and horror.
Just as bad as the original remake. The original had a little bit more style, but this was entirely bad. At least it didn't take a while to wrap up the story.
