This disaster remake of the original Poseidon Adventure movie was great. Kurt Russell, Josh Lucas, Richard Dreyfuss, Emmy Rossum, Mike Vogel, Jacinda Barrett, Jimmy Buffett, Mia Maestro, and the rest of the cast did a great job in this movie. The plot of the movie was dramatic and intense. It's pretty much the same story as the original of a group of people fighting to survive and getting to safety after a rogue wave tips a cruise ship over. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's worth watching. Don't listen to the bad reviews this movie has gotten, those people have terrible tastes in movies.

For all of the money you can plainly see thrown onto the screen, one would think the story and action of this 2006 remake would be a little bit more thrilling.

how does anyone say this movie is entertaining it begins with everyone celebrating New Years eve in the middle of the ocean ( how big is this ocean!!!!!!!!!!! ) seriously???!!!!!. the acting is terrible. the special effects look cheap, the dialogue is cheesy, and why do they introduce to characters only to kill them off that's no way to get us invested all the characters are bland and lifeless I actually just rooted for everyone to die none of them were likable and especially not that captain who literal is responsible for having most of the people drown thanks a lot this movie is a travesty and the worst remake since psycho 2/10

🍀 5.8/10 That Motha fucka looks exactly like Ethan Hawk. It doesn’t waste any time getting you into the action which isn’t particularly a positive. But the flip scene definitely has a lot of budget put into it. it looks great. It definitely stress inducing and it has some alright characters especially Josh Lucas‘s character. It’s definitely good at what it does. but if you’re looking for something more put together, it can get rather repetitive and stale in its execution. Otherwise, I’d say it’s a fun enough way to shed some time. Plus pretty violent for today’s standards of 
PG-13.

An underrated remake of a film I've never seen or heard of. 7.7/10.

Litteraly everything wrong with the movie industry and it’s entertainment values the filmmakers ought to be ashamed of this travesty everything about it is atrocious from top too bottom Kurt Russell and his family and friends survive a catastrophe and yet manage to escape but everyone else dies why!!!!!!!!! And the young love in this film is so unromantic there’s no chemistry and I did not ship anyone. In the end it’s best if everyone died so that the movie could have been over sooner the plot is so inconsistent why does the disaster begin to early and not only that but the ship doesn’t even sink to the bottom until the very end when it is capsized it would sink right away congratulations you have just failed logic. Another thing that made me lose my mind with the awfulness of this horrendous mess of a film was a pointless appearance of a character by the name lucky Larry some douchebag that resembles an idiotic version of Ethan hawke and despite the fact his nickname is lucky Larry he isn’t lucky at all as. He fails to cross the line to the other side and is crushed by some kind of engine that comes out of now where after making knocking sounds that don’t fit for how it would fall off the ceiling. The effects look like they filmed them on a thousand dollar budget. And the directing and writing are so incompetent that it almost matched Ed wood Z grade movie level bad. This is one of those remakes that feels like it was made by assylum it was more like a rip off of Poseidon than an actual remake of it every single death scene in it was so laughably boring and lifeless I didn’t care about anyone. I don’t know who this was made for or who would find it entertaining when everything that happens is so confusing and inconsistent that it’s hard to tell what was the meaning of it like maybe there wasn’t any. This was one of the worst remakes of the 2000s that should have been straight to dvd it didn’t even look fit for a theatrical release that’s how bad it is beyond horrendous is the best way to describe it 1/10

Okay disaster flick that doesn't really improve on the original but provides some thrills for a viewing. The cast is solid across the board but a few stars but no real standouts. Behind the camera, director Wolfgang Peterson delivers some thrilling sequences thought the story is rather thin, thus not amounting to much. Overall, worth watching if caught on streaming but not much else.

An exciting thriller and underrated film. I'd recommend it to those who enjoy disaster and thriller films.

Its trashy in less fun ways then the original. Petersen is so great at staging action, but without a decent script he's completely lost.

Poseidon is a remake or a updated version of the black and white version of the film. It's a diaster type of movie where survivors are trying to get out alive from the high amounts of water . It has a decent cast and the story will keep you watching throughout the film. But at times it does seem like it's trying to hard and the plot is basic. And not hard to understand which is a good thing . I think this is a decent movie to watch overall . The water affects even for 2006 are quite impressive for its time. Christian perspective/ parents discretion Violence lots of scenes of peril a few people die and don't survive . Brief use of guns and danger throughout the film . The violence is not heavy . It's more or less peril Language there's two gd words said in the film . A few uses of hand s words as well as 1 or 2 b words . Possibly the MOST ATROCIOUS script ever written. But as far as the thrills and spills, it serves a good amount, and rather well. For disaster lovers only.

Great cast, terrible schematics of a cruise ship that could possibly capsize. The puzzle they have to go through makes no sense whatsoever, and the integrity of the ship was absolute trash. I hope they don't make cruise ships like this in real life lol. Drawn out and in lamens terms, the ship was absolute trash.

Ship capsizes and stays afloat with minimal loss of life and a stable rescue situation for all aboard, until a rich prick decides he is special and should be allowed to make his way off the boat sooner, even if it means everyone else must forgo rescue and die for him to have this convenience. Well, every single action he and his companions take for the next hour results in even more destruction and carnage for everyone on the ship, and continues until he finally does enough damage to sink the ship with everyone who’s still alive also still aboard the ship. A movie filled with total A**HOLES that you can’t really hope to succeed, only due before they cause any more harm. But no, it keeps going. A painful movie to watch to the end with unlikeable main characters and nonstop stupidity. Should’ve just done like the Captain said in the beginning and wait a few hours to be rescued!

I love a good disaster movie. This is not a movie to be taken seriously. It's ridiculous, but passes the time. I swear, that kid Connor was the worst character. Annoying at every turn and constantly running off from his mom and putting himself in danger. None of the characters were particularly memorable, but I would have loved that kid being gone about ten minutes in.
