Fast food, funny songs, and boobs. What more could you really want in the world of Toma films? I've seen this movie at least ten times and found it fun every time. If you want a kickn' movie to watch with the guys this is that movie.

I was ready for it to be over with after 45 minutes despite there still being an hour to go. I kept watching because.... it's anti-propaganda, however, it is exploitive and gratuitous whether it thinks it is or not and it is disgusting as it is set in a fast food restaurant with a lot of juvenile bathroom humor. The last half hour is pretty twisted. 2 1/2 of 5

Lloyd Kaufman has gone full-on insane in this drunk love letter to 80s straight to VHS cinema. Gross, wrong and borderline stupid, but fun as hell, even if about 20 minutes too long.

Just as tasteless, schlocky, and borderline pornographic as you could hope for from Lloyd. Anarchic parody of the American dream wrapped in feces.

It had some okay humor but it ended up becoming redundant at some point, and the "musical" element added in was pretty terrible. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time with this one unless you are interested in racist jokes or poorly produced gore scenes.

This was one of the worst films I've ever seen in my life.

This is my first time watching a Troma movie and I'm glad I chose this! This movie is considered as one of the most tasteless and sick Troma movies. And it really does look like it! The story is about a fast food restourant that's built on top of an old Indian burial ground that is haunted by the Indian ghosts and now the ghosts are angry because of the fast food restourant and they start possessing the chicken and eggs inside of it. Yeah, I know right? It doesn't only sound awesome, it IS awesome! This is one of the most entertaining and fun movies I've seen for a while. The practical effects look amazing and the gore, although it doesn't look too real, is better than anything computer generated effects can create. The acting was very weird. I couldn't tell if it was intentionally awful or if that's how it was supposed to be, but the characters are really funny and off-beat so it doesn't really matter. It's more funny than I expected it to be. It has some seriously laugh-out-loud moments that are just so unexpected that you'll never see them coming. This is also a musical. Yeah. That part didn't really fit in as the singing was obviously auto-tuned and the songs weren't anything special, but it was amusing, nevertheless. All in all, this movie is lots of fun and you should deffinetely check it out!

low budget greatness

Given that the glory of Troma Entertainment came from the 1980's when cheesy horror films were in their glory. Attempting to recapture that kind of spirit, Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead shows no mercy in adhering to generic demands. Working to parody the iconic Troma Entertainment film style and yet follow the formula at the same time, Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead ends up as a ridiculous amalgamation of genres The intro to Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead pummels viewers with ridiculous clichés again and again with proud glory. The film immediately kicks off with the ridiculous concept of teenagers having sex in a funeral while attempting to piece together their faults in their relationship. This scene proves to unfold with copious amounts of nudity and blood, effectively setting the platform for what viewers can expect from the film. Over the course of the film, there proves to be a fair quantity of nudity, blood and gore to pay fan service, but it can be a little too silly for its own good. There is not a second in Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead where it takes itself the slightest bit seriously. With a simplistic premise as the basis for its narrative, Lloyd Kaufman directs the film through humourous material of many kinds. Being the co-founder of Troma Entertainment, Lloyd Kaufman knows exactly what fans want and how to deliver it on a minimal budget. This all works to serve as a distraction from a premise which proudly goes absolutely nowhere as a means of minimalizing its budget and maximizing what few settings it has, but it's also a brain dead experience. Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead ends up parodying its formula far more often than it follows it which puts a far greater reliance on cheap gags than on blood and gore, and as a result it ends up a scattershot feature with inconsistent laughs. It scrapes for the bare bottom of juvenile humour which is just dumb enough to work at times, but the rate of success can grow tired very fast. It turns around more in the second half where the reliance on exploiting the ridiculous makeup effects are pushed to the max, but by the point the damage is already done. Essentially, the most die hard fans of Troma Entertainment and 80's exploitation horror may get a kick out of the parodic nature of Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, but for me the manic energy just wore me down. And frankly, it was parodying a genre which is already ridiculously silly to begin with and so the level of juvenility in the film's content proved a little too much for me. Considering that the feature also stretches on to a total of 103 minutes, the experience has a real tendency to drag on. This is far too long for a film without any kind of a story, and the repetition of the visuals grows tiring very fast. Beneath it all is little more than a sporadic collection of pretentious plot points. There are minor elements of satirical commentary on the fast food industry somewhere along the way, but there is clearly little in the way of writing within Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead. As difficult as it is to complain about the motives of any character in a film which clearly doesn't put a second thought into characterization, protagonist Arbie can't decide whether he wants to win back the love of Wendy or get back at her which causes him to stay on an endless path of repetitive uncertainty, though it ends up being a cliché subplot in a story which can never pick any point to focus on. Eventually, the entire production just settles for a barrage of over the top imagery with the same basic blood and gore being used again and again to the point that the viewer becomes numb to either the shock value or comedic joy of it all, overusing the one thing that offers any kind of value in the experience. Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead is proudly excessive with its violence, but it becomes boring along the way. Somewhere along the way, Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead becomes a musical with ridiculous songs and silly choreography. The gimmick is so ridiculously over the top that it offers mild laughs, but it very quickly becomes a repetitive gimmick where the songs stretch on for too long without lyrics which are clever enough to supply sufficient laughs. Once the musical numbers start they just keep on coming at a seemingly endless rate before suddenly stopping for essentially the rest of the film, certifying the really directionless nature of the feature cannot decide what it precisely wants to parody. The attempts to make Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead into a musical do not offer enough to supply any lasting value to the film and pale in comparison to Troma Entertainment's far superior cult classic Cannibal! The Musical (1996). The acting in Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead intentionally fits the criteria of B-movie quality which works fairly well. Jason Yachanin has a lot of fun portraying the nerdy teenage boy archetype and manages to keep up with the ridiculous nature of the comedy with passionate dedication regardless of how senseless it may be. Kate Graham makes an effort to be ridiculously melodramatic at many points while supplying the nudity which should appease viewers, a gimmick carried by Allyson Sereboff. But best of all is the cameo appearance of Ron Jeremy's cameo because of his extensive porn star legacy and the fact that his character is a pale imitation of Crazy Ralph from Friday the 13th (1980). Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead has fun with its ridiculous makeup effects by throwing plenty of tasteless blood and gore at the viewers, but the entire narrative lacks any kind of story and focuses on parodying 80's horror conventions without tying them together, leaving a scattershot collection of misguided gags and musical numbers as lucklustre compensation.

They just ruined my life with this movie but I liked it

Very fun film that could only be produced by Troma.

Poultrygiest: Night of the Chicken Dead is nothing if not an admirable attempt at making a truly disgusting movie. Lloyd Kaufman and his Troma pals are definitely good at that. This movie might even out-gross The Toxic Avenger movies, and I'm not talking about box office here. The movie is all over the place with its story, never standing still for one minute, and is full of musical numbers and silly one-liners. There's also the aforementioned gross-out moments that caught even me off guard. This is definitely not a movie you want to watch while trying to eat anything. Even the strongest of stomachs will get turned off by this one. It's not a great movie either. At least the Toxic Avenger had a more interesting backstory (what am I saying?). Basically, Troma's aim is to be completely excessive and memorable, and the movie does both of those things, but I wouldn't consider it one of their more entertaining efforts; more like disgusting and hardly watchable.

Rude crude and disgusting Poultrygeist insults everything it touches and yet it is a Troma masterpiece. Poorly acted, directed in the usual Kaufman style and full of sex, feces and non-PC jokes this movie manages to stay laugh out loud funny for most of the non disgusting parts. Oh, and did i mention it's a musical? The worst musical full of people who can't sing this side of les miserables? If you're not disgusted by the schlockiest that schlock can offer i highly recommend this movie.

Poultrygeist is a rare intentionally terrible film that flawlessly follows through with its in intentions. Sick, disturbing, demented... There aren't enough adjectives to describe how horrifically disgusting it is. And that is its brilliance. 8.0/10

Fantastic! 100% pure awesome! Troma's best in years; it is hard to believe that they can make a movie about zombie chickens be this awesome! It is funny, gory, fast-paced, and a lot of fun!
