Powder Reviews
This movie feels wrong and uncomfortable to watch from the director who's in sex offender and it's so horrifying to watch and cringe and the actors are great but why they didn't find this erotic and weird and it feels like a X-Men orgin of Professor X.
One of the best movies of all time
ohmygosh i like this movie so much!
This is a timeless classic because humanity is always struggling to show kindness over the animalistic tendencies of violence.
"Powder" is a profound film that delves deep into the themes of otherness and the human capacity for both cruelty and compassion. The movie follows the story of Jeremy 'Powder' Reed, an albino young man with extraordinary intellect and paranormal powers, who faces prejudice and misunderstanding from the community due to his unique appearance and abilities. Two of the scenes in particular left a deep impression on me and have routinely come to mind over the last two decades since I first watched the film. A film for deep feelers and thoughtful viewers.
The movie was so good as a kid and re watching now. Makes me love it even more and understand more of the movie, Showed it to my mother in law whos never seen it and she loved it. Great movie.
Beautiful, it deals with social issues approached from a point of discrimination, social isolation, and a perspective where there is a rejection of what is different, even when this can be good for society, it is simply worth seeing.
Maybe limited by it's time or budget, but a very captivated story.
I think this is the only movie I've ever seen where I didn't want to change a single thing. It gets more beautiful for every time I watch it!!!!!
This movie is both as good as I remember and as bad as I expected. Jeff Goldblum was definitely *extra* in this one.
Lacked emotion. Other than that it’s worth watching at least once.
Powder is a film that appears simple on the surface but offers so much more when observed a little further. Much of it good, some of it bad but none of it ever boring or uninteresting.
A not very well known movie that more people should watch. Writing genius characters is very difficult, the movie for me it's held back because of it's sugary, "Hallmark tone". Premise is really interesting nonetheless. The "too white" joke is great. Would have been funny if he had a dog named "Bolt". Shocking potential for bad jokes.
51% "Particularly persuasive, "Powder" has over the top ways and is experiencing a brilliant idea for E.T".
It's an imbalance of unnecessary hatred and cliche romanticisms. "Powder" is a disappointment because it has good sci-fi/fantasy ideas, a good titular character, and even some good social commentary, but then it just buries everything underneath piles of purposeful music cues, overly sentimental religious overtones, and some truly detestably dumb side characters. Lastly, the final scene of this picture made me gag on overly rich cheesecake.
