Presumed Innocent Reviews

Feb 16, 2025

After watching the new version of "Presumed Innocent" I decided to check out the original movie adaptation. I don't know if that made me biased, but I preferred the series over this movie. I think the story is still interesting but this version is very focused on the legal side of the story and feels very talky at times. I still think Harrison Ford is great in this and I liked how the two versions have slightly different conclusions which makes them both feel unique. Overall, this is an okay movie, but I feel if you had to choose one to watch for the first time the Apple 온라인카지노추천 series surpasses this one in every way.

A first-rate thriller.

Harrison is a really unfaithful lawyer that's caught up in a bad trial when his mistress is brutally murdered. It's a classic 90s whodunnit that likes to lead you astray.

I spent the entire series fluctuating between whom I thought was guilty. That was the beauty of this series - no spoilers coming. Thoroughly riveting!!!!!! This was the fastest BINGE WATCH ever.. Big twist ending

Harrison Ford >>> Jake Gyllenhaal Playing the same character in a movie and 온라인카지노추천 series, respectively, 34 years apart, it's easy to see why Ford was so good and Jake is so not Harrison Ford. Want to watch Scott Turow's work done well on the screen? Jump in the time machine and travel back to 1990 and see it all done in less than one-quarter of the screen time as the series.

There's no arguing that the writing is solid, and that the performances are generally very good. However, it feels very monotonous - especially with HF's narration. There is no tension or suspense, and ultimately when the twist is shown it had already occurred to me. It tries and fails to be a steamy courtroom thriller, instead presenting itself as a heavily clichéd, prescriptive drama

Note, spoilers below. This show is extremely difficult to recommend in spite of some good to very good performances. It’s hard to take a cliche ridden 80’s novel and make it relevant in 2024. First, the legal proceedings are absurd, no judge would have allowed this trial to go to jury. Second, the victim in this story is completely forgotten after the killer is revealed and everyone just goes on with their lives. In the end, the show fails to live up to its potential, the mystery is so disappointing I wish we never found out who the killer was.

The plot was very intelligent and very well written.

Refreshingly riveting! Normally I can wait for a couple of episodes to air before watching…. But can’t help myself. I m right there every Wednesday night! If it wasn’t for this series I’d have canceled my Apple subscription long ago!

A stunning performance by Harrison Ford who is just an outstanding actor in every way!!!!! A great cast but the most important character 🎶 is being missed and I don't understand how it could be JOHN WILLIAMS'S SCORE 🎼 AS ALWAYS APPROPRIATELY BREATHTAKING❣️

In the real world, guilty or innocent is never as clear-cut! Rusty Sabitch is a prosecutor who learns of the death of his coworker and is put on the case, unknown to anyone that the victim was a secret lover of Rusty. This film manages to question all of the characters, leaving us unsure of who's being completely straight in this intense, psychological thriller!

A decent legal thriller that really thrives on its commitment to not telling the audience whether or not the protagonist actually did what they're accused of until the film's final moments. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention, however, that my enjoyment of this was neutered by the fact that I unfortunately had things spoiled for me prior to this watch. Nevertheless, there was definitely enough in this for me to stay entertained for most of the running time, even with the more staid and muted approach from director Alan J. Pakula. Admittedly, things aren't as naturally gripping in this for me as in, say, "All The President's Men," but with getting spoiled and all, I'll probably never really know the truth of what might have been. A shame, but not the movie's fault — it's definitely solid overall.

A pressure chamber of great acting and tight direction. The court room scenes rival those of "The Verdict".

Rusty Sabich is a prosecutor. He is part of the business of accusing, judging and punishing. He explores the evidence of a crime and determine who is charged, who is brought to this room to be tried before his peers. He present his evidence to the jury and they deliberate upon it. They must determine what really happened. If they cannot, we will not know whether the accused deserves to be freed or should be punished. If they cannot find the truth, what is our hope of justice? That's right, Harrison Ford is Rusty Sabich. He's gain a lot of reputation playing well known characters like Han Solo from the Star Wars films and Indiana Jones from the Indiana Jones films. In this one, he is a prosecutor and he remembers the woman named Carolyn Polhemus. He can remember her from flashbacks and he still loves his wife played by Bonnie Bedelia who which I knew her from the Die Hard films. There's an obvious twist at the end which you gonna have to figure it out for yourself because I think it's incredible. The screen shots are impressive in which the courtroom look pretty beautiful. Even the music score is by (wouldn't you know) John Williams are intriguingly nothing that memorable but I don't mind it. I like old fashioned music. I was intrigued that he composed music in movies that are rated R. Overall I think this movie is decent. I don't think it's one of those movies I can watch over and over again, but if I did, I can get to like it even more and gets some enjoyment out of it. If you're a huge fan of Harrison Ford you can get to watch it with your expectations. I just think it's one of the better mystery drama films. There was a crime. There was a victim. And there is punishment.

Ford never fails to deliver, so is Mr. Julia. Great movie !

The best kind of courtroom thriller, is the one that keeps you second guessing everything, and remains an intriguing mystery throughout. This one does that with an excellent cast and a delicious ending.

Alan J. Pakula's compelling screen version of Scott Turow's novel about a Prosecutor that becomes a murder suspect. Harrison Ford is terrific in the lead role. Great Scacchi is riveting as the strong, intelligent, senuous lawyer who is found murdered, leaving Ford as the prime suspect. Raul Julia does a great job in the role of defense attorney for an attorney. This is intelligently written and directed. The supporting cast is strong. Brian Dennehy is as compelling a magnetic as ever as the outgoing District Attorney with a personal conflict of interest. Paul Winfield is perfect as the Judge. As a courtroom drama this one is very good and one that really showcases how good Harrison Ford can be. Bonnie Bedelia's performance is good. I do think elements of this are predictable; however, I read the book so I might have felt differently if I didn't read it. Still good, even if it turns out be predictable.

What did you think of the movie? (optional) Plot, timeline and dramaturgy make it hard to stay awake. Visually... an insult to my eyes!

Great script, acting and direction. One of the best courtroom dramas in the past 40 years.
