Pride Reviews
Decided to rewatch this on the first day of Pride this year. It's so fantastic. Uplifting and shows the greatness of solidarity. A must see.
This uplifting factual endeavor boasts an engaging celebrative spirit through a talented cast as one of the most excellent humane stories that doesn't overdo its associated dramatic conditions. (B+)
It's slightly better than most "inspirational true story" adaptions, but still follows most of the standard plot points. The film does distinguish itself by focusing on a rather unique event so on that level it's worth seeing

Brit Com is sometimes too hard to appreciate.
A movie that deals with respect and fairness in this well made and uplifting crowd pleaser.
One of the best movies that I've seen so far.
Powerful retelling of the miners' strike in 1984 when a group of gay and lesbian friends travel from London to a small village in Wales to join the miners' cause. Great acting, great cast, with a realistic approach to a difficult culture in the early 80s. I highly recommend.
I love this movie, fun and feel good.
Just watched for the third or fourth time and lost my bodyweight in tears of joy and sorrow. It may take some liberties with what really happened, but the fact that anything like this happened at all is worth celebrating. A joyous movie and an education - can't say that for too many films can you?!?
Surprisingly refreshing and full of hope on the cause for human rights.
Great movie and a real crowd pleaser. Does a great job tackling big issues and historical events, without it letting it get too much.
I LOVED this movie, it truly is one of the best films I've ever seen. Bravo to the filmmakers, the crew and the cast for such a fantastically made movie about a great topic, people from all walks of life and backgrounds coming together to fight injustice. I can't believe I had never heard of it before and just came across it on prime by complete chance as I was searching.
Workers' rights are human rights, as are gay/lesbian/bi/transgender rights. This film joyously celebrates them all.
So glad I took a chance on an unknown title. This movie is funny and heartwarming. The fact that it's based on true events just makes it that much more endearing.
Loved this movie. It shows what can happen when two diverse groups with the same issues can talk and get to understand each others world. They are not so different. We could all learn about compassion and empathy, especially in these time.
