The movie delivers fun, romance and a good storyline. It's a great film for romance fans and perfect to watch with the whole family.

The %50 review is why no one likes movie critics.
Do people actually force one to do what they don't want just to keep title.
Classic nostalgia of a wholesome Disney story that gave Anne Hathaway her premier to stardom.
She rocks. She rules. She reigns. The Princess Diaries is a 2001 American coming-of-age comedy film produced by Walt Disney Pictures, directed by Garry Marshall 👸 Not bad, but not my favourite either 😉 It’s ok, but I feel mixed about this one 😉 I’d recommend it if you like this genre, but if not then probably give it a miss 👍🏼👎🏼 A socially awkward but very bright 15-year-old girl being raised by a single mom discovers that she is the princess of a small European country because of the recent death of her long-absent father, who, unknown to her, was the crown prince of Genovia. She must make a choice between continuing the life of a San Francisco teen or stepping up to the throne.
I love this movie, I don’t care if people think it’s basic or sappy I love it. Nobody and I mean NOBODY can beat Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway
This is one of those movies where nostalgia may blind viewers to make them think this was the epitome of teenage girl movies back when it came out, it's not a masterpiece but it is cheesy and fun to sit through and quote every now and then.
So good. Perfect cast.
Good acting, but entirely predictable and absurd Cinderella makeover movie. Clearly geared towards the overly romantic teenage girl while offering little in the way of entertainment to anyone else. I only wished I had turned it off half way through. What a waste.
This movie is as comfortable as comfort movies get. The story of a young girl finding out she is a princess is a little sappy, but the way the writers make you look beyond the storyline and invest into the characters and the country of Genovia is outstanding. The morals of learning your responsibilities and not taking advantage of your ability to use your voice is one that I think is important for every young girl to learn; Princess Diaries does just that. Lastly, the way Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway make you feel like you are in the princess lessons, at the carnival or driving in the mustang with them is unreal and makes this one of the happiest, cozy movies I have ever watched. P.S. You have to watch this movie to see how amazing Mandy Moore is during Stupid Cupid
Mia, played by Anne Hathaway, is told she is the rightful heir to the throne of a fictional European country. Anne Hathaway is perfectly cast as an awkward, clumsy teenager that can transform into a beautiful princess. Julie Andrews is a delight as her grandmother and I enjoyed Hector Elizondo’s limousine driver. What makes this movie work is that they take the plot seriously and the ending is satisfying. There are a few awkward comedic scenes that I wasn’t a fan of and the romance felt rushed in at the last minute. I think this movie is worth your time though.
One of my confort movies, I could watch this forever and is never gets old. Love this movie, love the performances, love Anne, and in this particular case I love the latin american dub, is the only way I like to see it.
Yeah it's pretty good actually. Hathaway was a bit over the top dorky like a cartoon character at first but once she settled in and becomes the princess she becomes more of a real person with quirky charm and is relatable. Julie Andrews is great and is a rock in this for consistency. Everyone else though is kind of forgettable and gives Disney Channel style performances. But overall the acting isn't bad thanks to those two. The music isn't bad either. It can be a bit on the generic side but is used pretty well overall. Everything else is pretty solid about it. The setting is memorable, it's very colorful and pops quite a bit, which helps because the direction is pretty basic. It can get a little jumbled fitting in all the different subplots. The romances, the best friend, her family, the mean girls, etc but it somehow overall makes it work pretty well. I think it does because it stays focused on Mia mostly and when it does cut to a sideplot it makes it very quick and ties in pretty well. It's also very charming and at times sincere honestly. The humor actually gets a consistent laugh every now and than. The PG friendly tone actually helps give it a charm rather than holds it back surprisingly. It's a bit long but it worked mostly and I didn't really mind it because I liked Mia quite a bit actually. It's a Disney Live Action Classic that anyone who likes any actors in this, the director, Cinderella type stories, or Disney live action should check out.
Updated version of Cinderella. Even the fairy godmother can't save this one. Anne Hathaway is cute. Julie Andrews is wasted. Hector Elizondo as Julie Andrews secret love interest? Now that's a fairy tale.
Amazing a d entertaining film which shows us just why Anne Hathaway is a great actress.
I loved this movie and although it may have been slightly cliché, the dialog was quite smart and it was quite a funny movie. I think that if you expect the movie to be Oscar worthy, it will obviously fall short. But as it only attempts to be a sweet story about a misfit 15 year old turned princess, it completely lives up to it's potential. I think that Julie Andrews completely made the movie and that Anne Hathaway also did an excellent job. The movie is great for people of all ages because it has a simplistic plot yet has great one liners and great repartee between the characters of the Queen and Princess Mia. I also think that the minor characters are great also because they provide even more comic relief
i love princess diaries.
Princess Diaries is a fantastic movie that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great coming-of-age story. The choice of actors in this film is spot-on, and Anne Hathaway's portrayal of Princess Mia is simply outstanding. From beginning to end, the story line is unique and captivating, making it one of the greatest coming-of-age movies I have ever seen. If you're in the mood for a heartwarming film that will leave you feeling good, Princess Diaries is the perfect choice.
