Promare Reviews
One of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Stunning visuals, bold characters, just amazing
Absolutely incredible. Everything I could have wanted from Studio Trigger. Bangin' soundtrack, breathtaking color palette, and non-stop action. Promare is completely over the top in the best way. The plot has a nice balance between serious moments and humor, and it's fully self-aware of all of the common tropes it makes use of. It's really just a whole lot of ridiculous fun. If you're a fan of Gurren Lagann, you'll definitely be into this.
Promare was pretty dope. The animation is stunning, the music is great, the story has some great themes, and the two lead characters are awesome.
the story could've been more fleshed out but the animation is absolutely gorgeous and the soundtrack is incredible so who cares!
It was everything it could be
Amazing animation, music and voice acting! Add a little of studio trigger's nonsense storyline and you have yourself a beautiful movie!
Rewatched and still thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. Metaphors for equality, difference acceptance/open-mindedness, and even for platonic, humanitarian love. The stylish+nostalgic (ttgl/klk) animation, and lots of craaaaazy camera angles n cool cgi usage also supplement my rating.
Watched Promare twice, going to watch it again until it leaves theaters.
If you like this type of balls to walls anime, youll love it. Great animation and stylistically very unique. Story isn't the strongest (not unusual for the genre) but its surprisingly funny. If youre not an anime person I could see this not being for you.
Amazing beautiful movie motivational ASF!!!!
great animation. doesn't take itself too seriously.
What Spiderverse achieved in the US, Promare has achieved in Japan. Absolutely stunning film!
It was great there needs to be more anime movies in the USA
Everything about this movie was fire. (No pun intended!)
Let's be honest, this is Trigger doing Trigger things: pushing animation to the limits, making 3D CGI look amazing (somehow), dosing us in Sawano intoxication (with his iconoclastic beats), and throwing their fans a mountain of meta-verse references. Gurren Lagann meets Kill La Kill? It's gonna be a good time. Nevertheless, this is a movie that deserved a series. It's literally non-stop: you can't take your eyes off the screen even for a minute lest you miss an episode's worth of content. Aside from the main 3 characters, almost no one else received any character development (e.g. Galo's Burning Rescue team) there wasn't enough time to go too deeply. Plot-wise, it's nothing revolutionary. You could say it's a rehash of anime cliche and traditional concepts. Yet, knowing Trigger, perhaps that was the intention. Many people will say this movie has no depth. For me, that wasn't the point. It was an experience--a gift from Studio Trigger to its fans, a romp through space and time, life and death, discrimination and acceptance, comedy and tragedy. I had an absolutely joyous time from start to finish and left feeling satisfied to the core. Trigger, you certainly know how to party.
I loved everything about it. The movie was amazing.
A beautiful signature of studio trigger and the things they made when they were associated with gainax, the movie is wonderful and aesthetically brilliant. I wish I could go see it more than once now!
very much a Studio Trigger movie.. wild, colorful, mind boggling!
So wonderful! Colorful, fun, with fabulous visuals and awesome characters. All with an amazing ost!
This was every bit absurd and amazing as I expected. Great job by Studio Trigger!
