Re-Animator Reviews
So good. So, so good😊
🌀COLLECTION RATING 96%
The Re-Animator is a gruesome and solid mad scientist horror film featuring some comedic elements that occasionally distract from its horror focus. Grading: B
Re-Animator is truly a blood soaked and twisted b-movie classic! From the opening gruesome scene to the insane finale, this keeps you hooked with its fantastic story, unlimited gore and superb special effects. It mixes both horror & humour to perfection and the cast are outstanding with some amazing performances especially from Jeffrey Combs, David Gale and the beautiful Barbara Crampton. The kill/death scenes are incredibly imaginative with bucket loads of over the top gore on display and the ending is one of my favourites of any horror movie! Also listen out for the Psycho-esque soundtrack from Richard Band. This is one not to be missed!
I understand why people like it, but it wasn't for me.
Definitely one of the classics. A good Lovecraft adaptation.
An 80s horror classic, well worth a watch.
In equal measures scary and funny, Re-Animator may not be the most 'laugh-out-loud' trip into horror comedy, but it set the stage for the budding sub-genre and does so brilliantly in its own right.
A classic! A solid one. Very original.
Re-Animator is an all time classic. This film has everything from comedy to great practical effects. This film is a must see for fans of any genre.
A decent movie that would have been great if Meg Halsey was a better character. Instead, we get a whiny woman-child who lives under her father's control, and even calls him "daddy". Gross.
Good little horror film based on the H.P Lovecraft story. Good theme tune too.
As a child I viewed this as such a great movie. After revisiting,it falls flat and is a borderline b movie.
Working on what seems to be a limited budget, the team behind this film have had to use both their heads and guts to get this thing made.
Awesome, albeit a little inconsistent. 7.5/10
"Re-Animator" is a really enjoyable gore-fest full of zany, wicked imagery. The effects are for the most part very well done, the acting is on-point, and the story is engaging. Granted, some things are left unexplained, and the characters are rather cartoonish, but that does not hinder the enjoyment - in fact, it tends to become part of the charm. The amount and quality of grisly, gruesome gore is pretty impressive, and the occasional presence of fittingly morbid humour is the cherry on top.
Funny and gory. A smart and hugely memorable 80's horror comedy classic which deservedly made a cult star of Jeff Combs and gave the world Dr Herbert West. An absolute late night, B movie style, splatter fest cult classic. One of my all time favourite horror comedies.
I am 14 and dont like horror movies they are all to over the top but this looks really good I havnt watched it yet but I will give it a try this year but I do feel like this would definatly be appropriate for ages 13 and up!
Brilliant and awful in equal measure. If you like b-movie horror and ridiculous gore, this is one to abhor & adore.
Late Night Grindhouse never disappoints, and neither does Herbert West.
