Redemption Reviews
I really enjoyed this movie it's not typical Jason Staytam action movie however it contains engaging story full of moral dilemmas
This is a good short movie for what it’s worth compared to the new lame “fairy tale” like action movies that have been made. The point of the movie will definitely be felt or you have no soul. Furthermore, I would give a more accurate star rating, but as mentioned there are horrible movies receiving wonderful reviews when it’s limp as f***! 5 out of 5 I’ll start rating more accurate when PG-13 movies stop being listed as R. The same goes for G rated movies stop being listed as PG-13.
Nothing special I suppose, but I enjoyed it,
Knowing Jason Statham's action tough guy persona and given the generic title of "Redemption" you may get the wrong idea about this movie. This movie is...hardly an action movie. I can count on one hand the number of fight scenes in this movie. This movie is more of a slow-burn character focused affair. Jason Statham plays Joseph Smith, an ex-military guy with some deep-seated PTSD from decisions he made. Smith runs into some fortune and decides to try to turn his life around. The problem is, Smith doesn't quite have a clear goal or focus. Statham's characters do best when they have a single driving force. Whether it be revenge or saving a girlfriend or stopping a giant shark. In this film he kind of just drifts from one thing to the next. I'm fine with Statham trying something else as an actor. The problem is, he is playing the same type of character, just one that feels like he is hampered down by too many disjointed plot threads. You can have both cool action and deep character work in a 100-minute movie. But this story does nun of it well.
I enjoyed the pace and the style of this film. The storyline Is engaging and the relationship between the main characters is well done. The ending leaves you a bit cold but otherwise a good movie
Excellent with interesting moral plot twists. Definitely worth watching twice!
It's the usual "give me a job" Jason Statham flick ,but it's better than SAFE and that's more popular than this film . Jason is likable here to me ,playing the protagonist and I love the part where he was taking photographs of himself for his unforgotten daughter to see him in a suit ,really touching ,great performance by everyone in this flick ,so thumps up .
Talk about a depressing movie! I only went to the end because I really like Jason Statham. Don't bother.
Bad start, sooo slow, bad ending, so boring story and please, María's name in polac girl?? Just because she was a sister? And no so original with names, i mind... Jason=Joseph Statham=Smith. My god, please. Don't f*** with me. This movie is soo bad!
On the one hand it delivers the usual tough guy revenge thrills But also tries to run alongside a few meaningful personal dramas which don't quite form a coherent whole. Still it's more interesting than the usual Statham gangster movies -quite engaging and tense at times.
I was expecting much better, but it was ok. Not your typical Jason Statham movie where he's just kicking butt. You get to see a different side to his acting. The overall ambience and plot is depressing and gloomy. Also, there were multiple plot holes. The ending wasn't that great either. Still though, I thought the movie was pretty watchable and decent.

One of Statham's worst movies.
The dark side of London
Pretty boring for a Jason Statham movie. I guess he was trying to be more serious. It moved too slowly and I didn't really care about the character.
If you accept it for what it is---a Jason Statham movie that's atypically more than just a bunch of stunts and action---I think you may find this one amusing. Stoic as ever, Statham plays an AWOL soldier from the war in Afghanistan who winds up a homeless alcoholic in London. Fleeing from an alley fight, he stumbles into a gay rich man's house and discovers from the answering machine greeting that the man is out of town for five months. He squats there, wears the man's clothes, and drives his Mercedes. When the neighbors inquire, he tells him he's the rich guy's boyfriend. Using an ATM card and PIN number he found in the rich man's mail, he pays back the nun (Agata Buzek) who runs the soup kitchen where he ate when he was homeless. And he stops drinking. He takes a job as a collector for a Chinese mob boss and soon, the London cops are after him. Meanwhile, he uses his money to buy Domino's pizza and Chinese take out for the nun's homeless patrons. Don't worry; it's not all melodrama. Statham does plenty of requisite ass-kicking as he seeks the killer of a homeless girl he befriended when he was on the streets. But the best part of the film is the relationship between Statham and Buzek. Their scenes together are great. Statham has been categorized as a one note actor, kind of like Clint Eastwood in his earlier films. But Eastwood grew, and it appears that Statham is doing the same. Redemption is not a great, profound film, and some of it is illogical (the art gallery scene makes no sense) but it's still absorbing and well worth a watch.
Very slow and not much action for a Stratham flick.
