Reservation Road Reviews

I don't understand the critics and people who have issues with this movie. It is a story of tragic event and how all the parties are effected. Ruffalo and Phoenix kill it. If you expect plot twists you can't forsee, then don't watch movies of tragic events. Y'all haters are crazy. Give this film a shot. It's worth it.

Excruciatingly slow but a pretty good story. Kinda depressing as well.

This movie's plot, plot twists and story line were trite and very predictable. Not very interesting. Spend two hours doing something else

Nice thriller. Bit overdramatic. Overall 7.5/10 - Very good.

Just yet another example of why rotten tomatoes is so unreliable… Some of the films they've given 90% to are utter crap… This has some of the finest most realistic, almost Oscar worthy performances (especially the parents right after the accident scene ) that you will ever see… Get the critic somehow can't comprehend it…

What the Hell was that?! The trailer was SO promising and all the signs pointed to a great movie: Focus Features' near perfect track record, an incredible cast, and an intriguing premise. But the moment it starts, you know something is horribly wrong. The tone feels like made-for-온라인카지노추천 B-movie schlock you swipe past on Netflix, the preformances are passionless despite ample material and just come off as angsty like these adults are acting like disgruntled teens, the writing is atrocious, completely unfocused and worst of all, the film's unintentionally hilarious when it should be devastating (when the kid says "ow" while another kid is brutally murdered at the same time, the confusingly abrupt ending cut to credits at the weirdest point, Joaquin Phoenix's "tough guy" voice, Mark Ruffalo's bored whining) and of course the plot is unrealistic and doesn't go anywhere convincing for a second, it just comes off as convenient. Just, holy shit, what the Hell happened here?! I was preparing to give it a 4, but the longer I talked about what it did wrong, the more convinced I was that it was a 3/10.

Ugh. Too many cheesy cliches, ridiculous coincidences, and an incomplete conclusion. SKIP this depressing drag of melodramatic dung.

Wow, intense, great!

it was somewhat decent

I'm surprised by the low rating. Yes, some plot twists were a little over the top, but something like that could happen in a small town. I thought Phoenix and Ruffalo's performances were great, the best I'd seen from these two actors in the movies in which I've seen them. I enjoyed this movie very much and I'm very picky about movies I've seen.

Great acting in this intriguing story about a male attorney accidentally killing another man's son in a hit-and-run accident.

I want this man found. A man recently separated from his wife and adjusting to his custody arrangements accidentally strikes and kills a little boy on his way home one night with his son in the car. He tries to cover it up but the incident weighs heavily on his conscious...especially when the father brings the case to his firm for him to research... "Can you hear music if you're in heaven?" "Yes." Terry George, director of Hotel Rwanda, Standoff, A Bright Shining Lie, and episodes from the television series The District, In Treatment, and Luck, delivers Reservation Road. The storyline for this picture is thorough and well done and the script and scenes are solid. The acting is perfect and the cast includes Joaquin Phoenix, Jennifer Connelly, Sean Curley, Mark Ruffalo, and Elle Fanning. "Where's mommy?" I randomly came across this on Netflix and decided to watch it for the first time. This was fairly solid and well done; although, a bit predictable. I enjoyed the conclusion and thought it was fairly well done. This isn't a classic that stands out strong in the genre, but it is well created and worth your time. "I deserve to go to prison." Grade: B-

Reservation Road is an amazing film. It is about the lives of two families that change forever after a fatal tragedy takes place on Reservation Road. Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Ruffalo give fantastic performances. The screenplay is well written. Terry George did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama and mystery. Reservation Road.

Kind of slow but meaningful. Own up to your mistakes.

May 27, 2015

A brutal, unwatchable drama that just gets more and more depressing by the minute. I know, I know, dramas can be depressing, but they should be GOOD too. Reservation Road's story is too simplistic to stand out.

Nov 26, 2014

A drama at its own standards with an atmospheric blandness and Hollywood cheese as the coating of unresolved improbability, overshadowing the performances of the cast. (B-) (Full review coming soon)

Oct 10, 2014

Weak script with serious problems.

This is a horrible sad depressing movie. There can be no winner in this awful movie. Why do people make creepy movies like this. Almost 90 % of movies are not worth watching and this is much worse than others.

Deeply touching drama about the effects of the tragic death of child has on all those involved. Excellent performances from a fine cast portray reactions that one could see ones' self having. All critics (this site) have called it excessively maudlin, how could the death of a child not cause such extreme reactions?

Watching this movie on Father's Day made this movie a little closer home in my heart. Yes, fathers do go through the grieving process and suffer (sometimes in silence) too. Moral tales remind us of what it means to be human and although there is no element of surprise nor exceptional performance here, it is good to be reminded to navigate vigilantly on our moral compass every now and then.
