Fantastic... Jennifer Hudson amazing!!
It was so real and I still am weepy eyed. I pray all the women who suffer through abuse. May God give you strength.
Great background of her life and ends with live performance by Aretha.
Music and singing were amazing! Tells the real story!
The movie was excellent. I love the storyline and the acting was an Oscar performance by Jennifer Hudson. I learn so much about the life of Aretha Franklin.
The movie was fantastic. Unfortunately, the movie goers behind me sang along with the movie. It was an annoying distraction.
Loved the movie and hope Jennifer Hudson gets her Oscar!
This was an amazing movie depicting the life of the Queen of soul Aretha Franklin. Great job
Jennifer Hudson did an incredible job! The ups & downs were insane. I bawled my eyes out!
excellent movie a lot of good information about Arethas life struggles
It was about 20 minutes to long.
Love Jennifer Hudson, but, she has her own beautiful and unique sound that didn't quite meet the feelings that Aretha Franklin evoked perhaps, knowone can. She is unique and one of a kind. The story was interesting, but, there was something missing.
I loved the movie,Jennifer Hudson did a great job per traying Aretha Franklin
Too long and many parts were drawn out. The story was great.......learned a lot about Areatha. Great music of course.
Every black female musician seem to have gone through similar struggles before they reached their pinnacle: Abusive family, husband, emotional and physical violence, public humiliation etc. It takes strength and willpower to overcome those hurdles and achieve success.
I was tired and I was wondering if I'd made a bad decision to watch this movie on a weeknight. Would I even be able to stay awake? I spent the first hour of the movie angry. It was just wrong and her family was just plain ol' messed up. By the end, I'd cried a couple of times and I was wide awake. This is not your typical inspirational movie. Instead, it's straightforward look at Aretha's life and her life was not pretty.
emotional, entertaining, and emotionally driven.
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Jennifer Hudson did an excellent job portraying Aretha Franklin. I learned a lot about her life that was extremely sensitive that I admire the fact that Ms. Franklin would allowed to be share with the public. The singing and harmony was wonderful. A movie worthy to be added to my collection of movies when it comes out on DVD.
There were several unanswered questions for things established early on, I never knew or learned the names of several characters, and it plodded a bit until about 1/3 of the way through. That said, it was emotional and worth seeing.
The All-Star cast included several of my favorite actors who have continually brought their A-game! The emotion that was elicited out of me (and my companions) was so strong during several key scenes. Everyone was sniffling and wiping tears! Aretha was an amazing artist and an equally amazing woman. Thanks for this moving depiction of her life that most of us knew so little about.
