Filme mais ou menos, o roteiro é fraco, o filme não tem cenas muito relevantes, o que salvou o filme foi a atuação do Leonardo dicaprio e da kate winslet que riveram uma quimica boa, o resto do elenco quase não ajudou e o filme bacana no drama, mas poderia ter cenas melhores.

Excellent acting in this movie!when you watch a movie that leaves you wanting to watch it again ,not just for the great theme of the movie,but the incredible acting professionalism!

It's difficult to find the words to describe just how good this film actually is. The story is a simple everyday tale of an ambitious couple with a young family, but told in an extremely honest and thought provoking way. The acting is superb and the pacing, although steady, is just right. The locations and cinematography are excellent, as is the subtle but purposeful musical score. The whole movie comes togeather so gracefully to take the viewer almost unaware on a compelling and sometimes frightening rollercoaster ride of emotions. It firmly held my attention throughout it's near 2 hour runtime, which seemed to pass much more quickly. I really appreciated this film and thoroughly recommend it.

The acting was great! The story was a bit triggering. Definitely a toxic couple. But I guess that's how it was for couples back then...scary.

How to find happiness in the quiet life day after day. Peace is happiness. A lot of people think it's a marriage movie, but I don't think it has anything to do with marriage. Anyone can end and leave a marriage. April's problem isn't with her marriage, it's with her own life. Frank's problem wasn't his marriage, it was his career. So Frank and April quickly agreed on a plan to live in Paris. Both are looking forward to the changes in their lives ahead. Two people trying to reverse roles. April goes to work, Frank takes care of the house. The excitement level of the two people seems to be back in love. Because they were all excited about the new life ahead of them. As a woman and a wife, I understand that April did not realize her self-worth and felt angry and resentful for her mediocrity. There are many ways she wants to change, she can continue to study, find her own circle, start a new career, or study drama... But she chose an extreme way. Frank couldn't manage his own emotions, let alone try his best to help April. Life is plain, in this plain day, nothing happened is a good thing. If you can find your own fun, it's worth spending your life.

One of the most boring films I have seen.Thank goodness I was in the house so I could keep forwarding it! Had really high Hope's as I love Kate Winslet.Awful

Kate Winslet plays a repressed and at times lonely housewife. Again. This is snapshot in to married life in American suburbia, that just fails to ignite.

Who doesnt love a movie with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, with Michael Shannon as a therapist. The movie isnt as impactfull as it might be and the story sometimes might be a bit all over the place, however despite that, this movie is pretty great. The performances of everyone are great and thats as well the best aspect of this movie. Kate Winslet knocks it out of the park, as well as Leonardo of course. Michael Shannon only has like 2 scenes, but they are very good. The screenplay is pretty great, the direction suttle but realistic. Overall a pretty great movie after all.

This is a film partly about being judged by your local community and forging your own way, I suppose. Its also about claustrophobia, self doubt and frustration. There are some fairly intense scenes with the couple arguing and it struck me that it would perhaps make more sense if viewed as a play, rather than a film as such perhaps. I thought the incidental (background) music was quite good - its a fairly atmospheric watch at times. Its also quite raw and unsettling as well. It makes you question whats going on behind what you see, i.e. the facade. This isn't the most fast paced, exciting type watch, if your into action films and the like but for a film of this type, about a couples clashing over what their future holds and whats best for them, this is quite a decent film and overall I would recommend it, yes.

This was a hidden gem! This is a great character story, with an all star cast. Kate gives an particularly stunning performance.

This was the best film I've seen in a long time. Di Caprio, Winslett and Bates were superlative in their roles and the writing was top notch. The ugly disintegration of a marriage takes place before our eyes, interwoven with memories of happier times. The tragic ending cuts you to the core. This is a film that will stay with the viewer long after the film has ended.

If your movies entire premise relies on the idea that a new baby will completely collapse a home and that family life is a trap , it falls on deaf ears to any audience who actually loves there family.

I think the movie was amazing, in every direction. The dialogues, photography, the passe, simplify astonishing. The best part is probably the questions the movie bring about how society forces us in certain directions in life. Totally recommend it!

Loved it. Different type of romance than usually available. Historical details are great.

Sam Mendes costruisce un dramma incentrato quasi totalmente sui due protagonisti, lasciando quasi totalmente fuori dal racconto i loro figli, questo probabilmente pone il primo grande scoglio insormontabile. Non si può comprendere fino in fondo il volere della coppia, e soprattutto il personaggio di Kate Winslet diventa più complesso da accettare. I dialoghi sono naturali e scorrono perfettamente anche grazie ai grandi attori sullo schermo, alcuni personaggi di contorno sono un po' troppo "utili alla causa" senza avere un vero scopo al di fuori dello scatenare reazioni nella coppia.

Very good film, great performances from Leo and Winslet.

Great lead performances by DiCaprio and Winslet brighten up otherwise dry and dark drama about social versus personal, dreams versus day-to-day life. The film is shot beautifully though, thoroughly depicting the era's style and mood.

I just love this movie.
