The 1994 film "Richie Rich," featuring Macaulay Culkin, was the next movie I decided to revisit. I thought I remembered it from my childhood, but upon watching it again, I realized I had forgotten nearly everything about it. This experience got me reflecting on the nature of creativity in Hollywood—whether it truly endures or if it tends to be fleeting. Take "The Wizard of Oz," for example, which was released in 1939. That film has an enduring quality; its memorable scenes and characters stay with you long after viewing. In contrast, when I watched "Richie Rich" as an adult, I found it hard to recall any significant details about the story. While the film had its fun moments, there were instances where I found myself questioning whether Culkin's character was actually speaking or if there was a voiceover because it sometimes didn’t even sound like him. This left me feeling disoriented and confused throughout the film. The characters were quite corny, the family dynamics felt cheesy, and the overall plot was goofy. It was entertaining in its own way, but I doubt I would revisit it outside of this review, which was a practice we didn't engage in back then. I ended up taking two days to finish it because I had to pause several times; it just didn't hold my interest. That said, if you're looking for something to pass the time, I suppose I could recommend checking it out as a filler. However, I wouldn't label it as a great cinematic experience that you'll love from start to finish. It suffers from misdirection and poorly written dialogue, making it difficult to fully enjoy.

Man, i wanted to give this a positive review. This was one of my favourite movies as a kid. I had a nostalgia thing today and went back to watch it. It is kind of a bad movie. I think what made me love this as a kid, was the fact that this kid had a rollercoster at his house, plus a few gadgets. I was also a huge Macaulay Culkin too, and was tired of watching the first 2 home alone movies(i watched them all the time) so that definitely helped. If you are a Macaulay Culkin fan as well, watch it. But don't expect much, because it doesn't have the same heart as home alone did. But then again, home alone 1 is a perfect movie, so it would be hard to reach that level.

Filme legal, o roteiro é bacana, gostei do macaulay culkin como o riquinho, o vilão é chato, gostei de várias cenas como o riquinho brincando de com as crianças de maneira diferente, tipo o lança criança, pega pega com o quadriciculo e várias outras brincadeiras, no final, o vilão chato é preso, e riquinho dá sua tacada final no beisebol, com tudo isso, eu recomendo esse filme vale a pena assistir.

The Live adaption of Richie Rich was possible ahead of the Time. Better than expected when revisiting it 30 years later. Maybe society at that time and now wasn’t ready for the message that Rich is in development of your network of friends and peers. Your network truly is your networth. As Richie is the Richest kid with a lot of preconceived notions of how we think the rich treat others in society and what we think of rich kids that may not be true.

film familiar con una trama muy simple niño rico que quiere sentirse como un niño normal, los personajes soy todos caricaturescos los buenos son buenos y los malos son malos de las actuaciones destaco a Macaulay Culkin quien con 14 años lleva muy bien la película, dirigida por Donald Petrie que la verdad no conozco más películas del el, pero hay una escena de Ricky (Macaulay) y sus padres tienen la misma experiencia pero en diferente circunstancia y pequeñas coas hace que Ricky ricon se entretenida y no aburrirnos ya que es corta la película y pues deja un mensaje que nos dice la felicidad no está en el dinero sino en las personas que nos rodean.

Really love this movie. Full of fun times and cool cameo's from celebs in the 90's. Don't understand the 26% Rotten Tomatoes score, it was much better than that.

A fun family movie that show what life is really worth.

An honestly bad film if you are not under the impressionable age of at least 10 years old, however, even that could be a stretch. Incredibly cheesy with the mildest bit of charm. As a kid, I remember I liked the parts when all the kids were hanging out with Richy on his mansion grounds and playing with all of his cool stuff.

Richie Rich is a poor adaptation of the famous animated series. The film is an indefinite abyss, without great performances and without its brightness.

Enjoyable Movie For Teens & Adults This is definitely teen fare, but it's very entertaining which means adults would get a lot of laughs out of it. As with any comedy, some of the stuff is really stupid and some of it is really funny. Along the way, you get some of modern Hollywood's secular plugs and a few swear words that you wouldn't want your little ones to hear, but overall, I have little to criticize with this one. There were a number of sight gags, things that made me laugh out loud, such as dollar signs instead of spots on the dog, the dress-ware of the little rich kid (Macauley Culkin), the eccentric characters - good and bad guys - are all fun to watch. I thought Jonathan Hyde, as the butler, stole the show.
