Ricky Stanicky Reviews
Starts out great but loses it's way and drags half way through. Cena was hilarious.
Very funny and chill comedy, I’ve liked it a lot!
This is a silly but original film in its story of three best friends since childhood who have invented an imaginary best friend, Ricky Stanicky, to always conveniently get them out of trouble or provide an alibi for when they don’t want to participate in the responsibilities of adult life. Although a fantasy, it’s easy to watch and enjoyable enough, especially thanks to John Cena’s comic relief as Ricky.
First of all, rudely hilarious. Lots of knob jokes and a whole stand up routine about wanking. I think Cena really is a philanthropist in real life and plays playing one here. Anyway, he's a lovable hunk. And a big important message about - honesty. Maybe a bit overlong but lots of fun. C it!
It's good, go watch it.
Best original adult comedy in years. It’s a crazy story that comes off real.
If you’re a fan of peter farrelly this is a must watch! It’s goofy, original, and John cena is hilarious!
Seeing John Cena in a skirt definitely cringe worthy. It burned a mental image and ruined Brittney Spears!
This movie had no business being as good as it did. True comedy with a wacky premise.
I liked the premise, overall though most of the movie wasn't enjoyable & it seemed like they just wanted John Cena to say outrageously gross things for cheap laughs & to be edgy, could have been a lot better in a lot of ways.
Super funny movie. John Cena is absolutely amazing in it. Definitely worth a watch. Hilarious
Ricky Stanisky, directed by one of the Farrelly brothers , Peter. Starring John Cena and Zac Efron. Tells the story about a meds up friend to which 3 childhood friends blame everything on. This continues to adulthood where to continue the lie, hire an actor to play the part. Thought this was going to be a dumb buddy movie but it’s actually really good. Good story with a good message. And John Cena , I used to think he was an ok actor but he’s really good actor. 🍿🍿🍿🍿/5 on Prime
Ricky Stanicky is a silly over the top comedy with a great cast that could still fall short. But John Cena held the movie together with his comedic commitment. I really enjoyed the movie for it's feel good message. No matter your past, upbringing, or what ever is holding you back you can create a successful life by living in your truth. Admission of faults, correction, dedication, growth, and philanthropy can change anyone's life for the better!!! Go get em Rick aka Rock Hard Rod:)
I really wanted to like this unfortunately it’s a missed opportunity. Cena, Effron and the premise are great (Cena definitely steals the show). However the rest is completely miscast and the script was lackluster. The problem is a shotty script and I expected much better executed comedy from Peter Farellly. This definitely felt thrown together and there’s way more comedic misses than hits. I laughed a few times bit was mostly bored with it.
One of the worst comedies I've seen in a while. The only reason it gets any stars is because of John Cena. He carried this film for what it was. Everyone else was boring or irrelevant.
So Funny ! John Cena Rocks !
A movie of pure, unbridled chaos that turns to be…strangely wholesome and sweet. A movie with a good heart, a big message, and fun, lighthearted comedy that likes to mess with the characters who deserve everything coming to them. With Zac Efron, Andrew Santiago, John Cena, William H. Macy, and Jermaine Fowler, this movie is packed full of outstanding actors who know their craft. The plot was more than surprising and excellent and with very odd ends and reversed ideas, it was a quite refreshing watch when I expected to just turn my mind off. A good watch.
Director/Writer Peter Farrelly is comedy writer royalty. His biggest hits are full of big stars landing funny jokes, leaning on outlandish characters and impossible premises. His work transcends when he successfully lands the comedy plane on thinly veiled morals. Even really dumb people have heart (Dumb and Dumber), being honest is more attractive than most things (Something About Mary) and there’s a lot more to loving someone than looks (Shallow Hal.) Ricky Stanicki fits the Farrelly model but tries to sell “everybody deserves a second chance” in a way that doesn’t work. Comic lead John Cena is at times lights out funny and at times very bad. Efron and other leads have broken character arcs and weak jokes. William H Macy and Jeff Ross land more laughs in their limited screen time. The world needs more dumb comedies and you’ll laugh at some of the best dick jokes in years, long live Farrelly, but he definitely lost some of his fastball since the confusing 2019 Best Picture Win for “Green Book.” Letter Grade B @stephczach chuckled and threatened to murder me if I ever tried any of the shenanigans in this movie
Thanks to Cena this movie is a worth a watch. Some of the other actors had a one or two lines that were kind of funny but Cena steals the show proving he can do comedy as well as anyone and certainly better than his wrestling counterpart The Rock. Some of the jokes fall short or even seem a little lame but Cena did a good job keeping this interesting and made me want to keep watching. I will say that Zac Efron wasn't too bad either and he's come along way since that Hairspray movie proving he can do more than just sing. Don't go in with high expectations and you won't be disappointed.
This was funny, a great time and full of fun. I didn't think it was going to be so good but it was. John Cena was hilarious! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
