Ride the Eagle Reviews
This is a slender but sweet take on how life, love and loss never go to plan.

A genial comedy even if it never delivers much of a punch.
| Original Score: B- | Oct 10, 2021
Even if it does not stray too far from the path of what one might expect from this sort of film, it'll still manage to leave smiles on most faces thanks primarily to Johnson, the beating heart of the story, and his wonderful chemistry with Carden.

The film is nothing ground-breaking but it is an enjoyable story and interestingly played out, plus the cabin by the lake views are extremely pleasing.

It's a bit indulgent but, still, a gentle watch.

Ride the Eagle presents a charming mix of sweet drama and salty comedy in this story that covers the gamut of reconnecting with the past, appreciating the present, and moving forward from regrets in the future.

"Eagle" might be modest and simple but it's also rewarding, a gentle comedy-drama about letting go and growing up.

Doesn't soar to great comedic heights, but it's an easygoing dramedy about reconnecting that's especially timely in the era of COVID.

Although it traverses a familiar path of forgiveness and reconciliation, this bittersweet comedy finds enough quirky charm to avoid becoming lost in the woods.

It's probably best not to think about it too deeply and enjoy the witty dialogue, the gorgeous setting and Johnson's endearing performance.

A great cast, an unforced tone, and beautiful mountain photography combine to create a film that is unapologetically pleasant.
