R.M.N. Reviews
I don't understand all the high ratings and reviews. It was ok, but didn't make much sense at times, and the ending was just dumb. Seriously the dumbest ending ever.
Hard to folllow at Times
This is a dark film…..lots of character tensions & building. It's a slow burn with a brilliant finish. Must watch.
More mysterious than I had expected. I also think that the movie has one of the more convincing depictions of a town collapsing in on itself.
Darkly rich and utterly engrossing, R.M.N is a study of tribalism, and nationalism.
so good this movie is,i love it
I don't understand why the director chose such an unlikable character as the protagonist. He's a hypocrite, coward, spineless, and doesn't treat women well. He doesn't learn or do anything for the story. Frustrating we have to watch the movie from his pov.
The scenes of xenophobia acted out and filmed here are straight out of a Twilight Zone episode from 60 years ago. Slow and sporadically interesting. Many scenes are heavy with stilted, stagy dialogue. Character development is nil, zero. This is a parable with a theme that has been explored 10,000 times before. Regular movie with a worn out story. Made in Romania so I guess it gets special darling status as being better than it actually is. Not sure why that is.
Valuable for its unflinching and honest stare at one at modernity's most formidable moral conflicts -- that between our sense of community and the globalization's challenges to it -- and also for its focus on the parts of Europe most of us really don't get to see. The personal story lines, on the other hand, while bringing texture to the story, are handled haphazardly, and so some of them trail off into irrelevance.
The greatest 02 hours: and 08 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The film is defined by one’s acceptance of the art & ambiguity of its ending. I was moved by it.
