Room Reviews
Room has great performances from the two leads.
Much better than expected. Very good movie.
Excelente actuación de brie y jacob
Though deeply harrowing, the story’s centering on the utterly authentic mother-son relationship of Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay, elevates it to a profound and ultimately uplifting exploration of what humans can endure and survive in the face of the worst possible circumstances, and what makes survival and recovery possible.

#sugarsweetmaam cal a spine thrilling, emotional rollercoaster ride.
Incredibly boring. Unbelievable plot. Not sure what the entire point of the second half of the movie is.
Brilliantly acted with a heartbreaking story, 'Room' is a very powerful and emotional film that will hit the hearts of everyone who watches it. Even though it is a very hard to watch movie at times, it is something that should be watched. Brie Larson is incredible and Jacob Trembly plays Jack so well.
Without a doubt, this film will tug on your heartstrings. The perspective for the film jumps from a world we take for granted and the other we wish we never visited. The film is shown in the perspective of a child's imagination and an adult reality. The film is told in such a way as to the point when you see the credits scroll up. The film still continues the story of that world living beyond the screen. “Overall the film screams great hidden cinema. I would have given it 6 out of 5 but there wasn’t enough room.”
Realistic trials and tribulations, sad and heartfelt movie. I'm happy with the fact that they made the move to show how life had been after-the-fact.
This is one of those movies that you are not allowed to criticize because it is about an abused child and wife. The acting is quite good. It has that going for it. Most of it takes place in one room. After 20 minutes it wears out its welcome and becomes quite tedious.
This movie will stay with you long after the credits roll.Exceptional.
Perturbador. Até hoje me causa mal. Por isso dei 4 estrelas. O filme consegue transmitir o que pretende.
She won an Oscar for it........enough said
This is a good film. Brie Larson gives a strong performance and the young Jacob Tremblay does a great job. Worth a watch but there's not much rewatchability here.
This film may not be the film you expect it to be. The first half is psychological horror-esque, and the second half is a depressing drama. Spoilers below: So basically half the film is the protagonist and her son in captivity and escaping, and the second half is coping with the trauma and attempting to adjust to normal life afterward. I thought the film would be structured more in the sense of the protagonist planning multiple escape attempts, failing a few, and then finally succeeding. But she and her son escape successfully half way through the run time, and the last hour is spent on dark emotional stuff. Her dad refuses to acknowledge her 5 year old son because he was conceived when his mom was r*ped by the film's antagonist. There is a confrontation about that, with 0 follow-up. There is a discussion about the predator possibly taking a plea deal and possibly having a trial, but no follow-up. The child, unable to comprehend the situation fully, asks to visit the Room they were captive in since before his birth. The protagonist reluctantly takes him there to visit and he realizes it's not as nice a place as he remembered it to be and that the real world is better. This is symbolic to the audience of the mom and son moving on with their lives and healing emotionally. Not the worst film but the first half and second half are like 2 different movies and I don't think there are many audience members who would totally enjoy both halves of the film because the whole vibe is entirely different. I think the film would be more compelling if it was structured in a way where they escape successfully like 10 minutes before the end of the movie, or something.
Excelente filme.
In reading reviews and information about this film upon its release, I had every expectation that I would love it - perhaps it would be an all-time great for me. So I was crushingly disappointed to find myself mightily underwhelmed by the end of my viewing experience. I could not get involved in the story, I felt nothing for the characters and was frankly a bit bored. I've also discovered over the last couple years that Brie Larson as an actress rubs me the wrong way, which may explain my antipathy toward this project, considering she is in virtually every scene. I will say that young Tremblay is quite good, and while it's a well-made film, I walked away feeling empty.
I cried… and then I cried some more
