Rudy Reviews
This movie makes you feel like you’re not doing enough in life. Imma sign up for astronaut school tomorrow.
While the movie has plenty of heart, it's hard to feel the story was a complete triumph. Still, it's hard not to cheer for the underdog, and in this case the movie itself as it tells a true story that is much truer to life than most.
A young man who WON by SPIRIT with all odds against him..He inspired millions who watched this movie of his REAL LIFE.
The best sports movie of all-time. Go Irish!
This film, which is based on a true story, follows Rudy Ruettiger, a superfan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, whose one dream is to one day play on the team. But despite his love for football, and the team, everyone—from his teachers to his family and friends—tells him it’s impossible due to his lack of athletic ability, mediocre grades, and limited finances. When his sole supporter, Pete, dies in an accident at the steel mill where they work, Rudy commits to pursuing his dream, determined to prove everyone wrong—and to prove to himself that he can do it. With unwavering passion, heart, and the help of a few unlikely mentors, he makes his dream a reality. Overall, due to an inspirational soundtrack, an uplifting message, Astin's authentic and heartfelt performance, and a compelling underdog story, this movie is very good, and even though I’ve never been particularly interested in sports—making the football scenes less impactful for me—and despite its predictability (the outcome is obvious from the start), I still greatly enjoyed this feature and believe it’s essential for motivating and influencing future generations, demonstrating that anything is possible if you work hard enough to achieve it and showing the importance in following your dreams, however crazy they may be.
Watching this movie was a waste of time. I would rather watch Air Bud over this.
One of the greatest sports movies ever created around an inspirational story.
I never knew such sports movies like this one were discouraging. Just awful
Rudy is an emotional film but a good one at the same time I find this film very enjoyable The cast is good Th5 film seems cliched at times Rudy is an up lifting film for everyone to enjoy on a Sunday night to get viewers ready for the up coming football season It keeps viewers entertained as will what a good movie
A Sunday evening film with an box of tissues for the tears.
This movie is awesome and inspiring.
An inspiration film that makes one believe they can achieve their dreams no matter how difficult they may be to reach. Great acting and great story telling.
Loved this film, it felt raw and real, no BS, it makes you believe that anyone has a shot, really inspiring, there's been an influx in sporting films over the last 15 years and many which are fantastic but a lot that are cheap and trashy, this isn't one of those! Brilliant, thought provoking, moving, and well written. Definitely worth a watch!
One of the greatest films that give the message of never giving up on your dreams. All time classic.
I'm in no way a sports fan, however I am a movie fan, and as a movie fan, I know a great movie, when I see one. ‘Rudy' is a great movie. It's not only a great movie, it's the greatest sports movie ever made, period. Very highly recommended! A-
Another one of Sean Astin's earlier roles to face pre-'Lord of the Rings' A lovable supporting cast too from Robert Prosky, Ned Beatty, Lili Taylor, and Jon Favereau Based on a true story and directed by David Anspaugh, Astin playsDaniel Rudy Ruettiger, a dyslexic young man who dreams of playing football at the University of Notre Dame Sadly everyone keeps reminding him he doesn't have the athletic build or the grades to qualify His tuition alone costs $1000 and he's stuck working at a steel mill but Rudy is determined to make his dream come true Everything changes when he's willing to get good grades, his own colors, and affecting his teammates as well as his family This is a memorable performance by Sean Astin, has some of the best music composed in a sports film, and a very uplifting spirit of confidence Yes there are liberties taken but it's a very good viewing for sports lovers and underdog enthusiasts Having dreams is what makes life tolerable, not everyone is meant to go to college, dreamers can't be doers, does chasing a dream make everything miserable?, do you have to be good enough for yourself or for others, perseverance is a powerful tool in the face of endless negativity This is a treasure of information to be remembered
A classic story of overcoming the odds
Heartwarming, inspiring, sentimental true story. A must see for every Notre Dame fan or student.
Best movie I've seen in a LONG time.
