Run Lola Run Reviews
An existential and thrilling ride; stylistic, thought-provoking, memorable, and with a starkly searing performance by Franka Potente. Grips, and never lets go.
Brilliantly creative storytelling, a uniquely lurid aesthetic, and an electrifying soundtrack throughout result in a very intelligent and compelling film.
Good movie. Heard a good bit of hype about it for 20+ years. Could've done w/o the ear-piercing screams. But the multiple 'versions/resolutions' aspect worked for me. Good performances, but a couple of plot holes could'ben filled. 3.2 stars

A film who's nitrous injected pacing can be described in terms of velocity, Run Lola Run pretty much hits the ground sprinting. Its relentless momentum is sustained with a genuinely energetic, unpredictable and ceaselessly inventive chain of events. The framework for the plot is laid out by way of swift exposition in the opening minutes and features a few unexpected turns that won't be spoilt here, just know there's a courier trying to deliver a bag of cash to a drug dealer and his flame haired girlfriend who sets out to save him- by running- a lot. Having sat through many........many hours of tired, formulaic, forgettable big budget movies churned out by the Hollywood factory this year, Run Lola Run takes a high speed run-up kick in the pods to its modern"content" obsessed counterparts- I believe this is being screened in the Imax London soon, where Gladiator II's currently showing. you'll probably forget much of the latter shortly after watching, you definitely won't with the former.
Good movie! I just did not like having to watch the cartoon version over and over again. Great 90s aesthetic.
This film is an all time classic. Driven, imaginative, surprising, lyrical and dizzying. You fall in love deeply with the characters and the world is distinct and unique. The use of the song ‘what a difference a day makes’ is one of the great moments in cinema.
Most excellent movie indeed
I LOVEEEED THIS MOVIE, it was intense with Lola trying to get what needed to be done and her determination was very convincing on film and I loved the soundtrack
Dear <Account Deleted> Despite the semantic trigger warning in the title, you have boldly double-downed on deigning to dislike the "fast pace" of the film. Do you bark at the McDonald's drive-thru clerk for being too expedient? Is your ZARA shopping cart plagued with too much seasonal variety? Is your beach too sandy, water too wet? Tom Tykwer's 81 min. runtime follows in the footsteps of Aki Kaurismaki's 68 minute rule, but if you really need more bang for your buck, his later Cloud Atlas might not disappoint. Just be prepared for the ridiculous choice of Tom Hanks in every sprawling double-helixed instantiation of recognizable character after character, which was erroneously likened to The Beast (2023) by audience reviewer "A B" who also demonstrated your panache for missing the point. It would be interesting to take your criticism in a more literal way and re-imagine the film as, possibly Pole-Vault Lola Pole-Vault. Or Town Plan Lola Town Plan (actual Olympic events) Plunge Lola Plunge, Sculpt Lola Sculpt, or Solo Synchronize Swim Lola Solo Synchronize Swim? Surely some product placement, though anathema to the film's neo-punk post-modernism (or vice-versa) could be warranted from a trailblazing sporting goods company: Wilson! "Run Lola Run" is a completely crazy and wild nonstop ride. The movie has to be one of the most fast-paced stories I have ever seen. This sort of premise can be a bit light on characters and their development, but I really admire the filmmaking aspect of it. The movie literally barely stops to give us time to breathe and I found myself really enjoying all 80 minutes of it. It presents a few different events happening that make it an interesting and edge-of-your-seat experience. Overall, I think the direction is very solid and the way it is edited is one of a kind, and I really enjoyed the frenetic and wild experience of watching it.
Still is unique and enjoyable all these many years later. And it was great to see it again and in a theater. So many little things make this good that if you have not seen it you must.
This film is still a masterpiece!!
Intense and not a second wasted
I thrilling marathon into Madness.
Every second of every day you're faced with a decision that can change your life. Run Lola Run (German: Lola rennt, lit. "Lola Runs") is a 1998 German experimental thriller film written and directed by Tom Tykwer. 🏃♀️ It’s very good! 😀 I’d definitely recommend it 👍🏼 Lola receives a phone call from her boyfriend Manni. He lost 100,000 DM in a subway train that belongs to a very bad guy. She has 20 minutes to raise this amount and meet Manni. Otherwise, he will rob a store to get the money. Three different alternatives may happen depending on some minor event along Lola's run.
This it art. great film. they get an idea we all thinking about and put on film. i miss watching classics like this.
As great and impactful as it was 25 years ago! There is still nothing else like Run Lola Run. A remarkable, propulsive film.
This movie is Creative.
In my top 10. The casino scene alone is worth it. Soundtrack is incredible.
