Satanic Panic Reviews

Feb 12, 2024

This is a Horror comedy. Throughout this film, there is lots of blood and gore, most of it is based on shock value. The plot of a cult losing their sacrifice and all turning on each other is comical and enjoyable. It isn't serious at all, making it an entertaining film to watch with friends.

Satanic Panic is completely bonkers but a lot of fun, with plenty of lashings of violence and gore. The film features a good cast well lead by Hayley Griffith, with great support from Ruby Modine (daughter of Matthew), Hannah Stocking and Arden Myrin. Rolls along quite nicely, and at a mere 89 minutes you get the sense the makers got the timing about right. Highly recommended if you are in the mood for horror silliness and you are short on viewing time.

I had put this on my list a couple of years ago for the blurb and kept it there for Jerry O'Connell. Unfortunately, it was a waste of time and of Jerry. The rich worship the Devil (more precisely, a demon named Baphomet, although he will not be the only demon present in this movie), which allows them to maintain their control over the elite strata of society. The plot follows Sam (Hayley Griffith), a pizza delivery girl who couldn't've asked for a worse first day on the job. After being stiffed of a tip at an opulent mansion in a wealthy neighborhood in Brooklyn (why they set the movie in Brooklyn but filmed in Dallas is beyond me), Sam barges her way into the dwelling and is set upon a Satanic cult the very night they are planning to sacrifice a virgin to Baphomet. From here, it's a constant chase throughout the neighborhood, from mansion to mansion, with everyone they encounter (Sam joins a girl named Judi (Ruby Modine) who was supposed to be the original sacrificial virgin, but found a random young man to end those plans) somehow connected to the bloodthirsty coven. "Get your big tits in gear, they know we're here," was pretty good, but besides that, I can't remember if there was another laugh-out-loud moment. It's all over the place with a message that I guess was still punchy in 2019, but the same concept has been around since at least 1967 (Rosemary's Baby). There are a few seconds of a really cool-looking demon and lots of low-budget gore — Ardin Myrin as "Gypsy" had a nice death scene while she "drowned" without being submerged in water. Jerry O'Connell is in one scene (while parts of him are in others..). If anything can thrive in a low budget, it's horror, but this isn't one of them. I can't see a reason for anyone to watch this movie.

Really odd and completely different. Gory good fun, and quite funny.

It was OK, probably could have had a little bit more racism and female nudity, but it was fine, I guess.

Boring, casually racist in parts. Film clearly has disdain for victims of sexual violence. Ridicules them and fetishizes the act itself.

There's definitely a need to panic when it comes to something satanic Fangoria Films invites you to join the gathering of the devil himself Kristen Larson is a pizza delivery girl who just wants the big tips Her latest delivery brings her to a mansion filled with people who supposedly worship Satan They intend to summon Bathamet, a triple-faced demon by sacrificing a virgin Kristen gets locked up by this cult unaware of what is in store for her The only two big names in here are Jerry O' Connell and Rebecca-Romijn but you also have Ruby Modine from 'Happy Death Day' Kristen runs into this rich girl who's mother is part of this cult, she wants nothing to do with following her depraved ways Not so much terrifying but has doses of gore and laughs Yet the film could be more pulse-pounding and more deliciously wicked Still as disposable midnight movie fare it gets the job done Both Hannah Stocking and Ruby Modine work well off each other to escape this dark group's clutches Some nice feminist touches to go with the blood and guts being spilled embracing all its lunacy

I only seen this movie once, and I think that I would watch this movie again. I don't know if I would recommend this movie to anybody, only because it is a bit wild to recommend imho. I thought that this movie was funny, and had it's funny dialoge etc... I went with 2 1/2 stars for this movie, and I held back 3 stars as a score for this movie. Just a silly movie, that goes by quick and is a easy/fun watch if you just want a quick movie to watch, if you don't know or have a movie to watch. I thought that this was a alright movie.

‘Satanic Panic' Delivers a Messy Comedy Horror

Enjoyable enough goofy, gory fun.

What at first seems like your average horror comedy slowly morphs into a descent into absolute horror and madness. Weird, absolutely disgusting, over the top and vomit inducing - this is a-grade horror that’s a must for fans of the genre - and probably best avoided by those who aren’t. Well acted, original, unique and genuinely unsettling - this is a benchmark for modern horror-comedy.

like they couldn't figure out how to end it so they were like what the hell let's toss in some rabbits and an orgy and see where it takes us.

A minimum-wage delivery girl is forced into a night-long battle with the affluent leaders of a suburban community after discovering that they are all part of a satanic cult. With a run time of 1h 29m Satanic Panic is a horror movie like no other, from paranormal to psychological horrors this movies got a lot of both and it's probably one of my perianal favorites. The story is interesting and unique and you actually care whether or not to protagonist make it through the events in the movie all and all I easily rate this 5/5 skulls

Bloody great!! The main actor makes it, she is a really likeable character and entertaining and naturally funny

A dark and funny reinterpretation of cult-centered plots. Although the directorial effort at times feels lackluster, the sum of its parts ultimately keeps you interested and concludes with a masterful ending.

Jun 21, 2020

Zombieland tone, but with douchey, entitled, wealthy Satanists and some pretty disgusting ritualistic horror instead of zombies. Decent horror-comedy.
