Saw X Reviews
This film felt very intense just like previous Saw films but this one demonstrates the hard work over the years!
A really good sequal to the "Saw" triology. Even tough it takes us back to the time when John Kramer was still alive. The story really speaks a lot more and defines what kind of personality the game's host really has.
was decent for a prequel
The origins of John Kramer enough said!
Even though there's many bad SAW movies I have to say this is the worst one.
Pointless, tedious and silly. How are the audience supposed to empathise or root for the Jigsaw Killer as a protagonist exactly? There are no stakes here we care about.
If you're a fan of this neverending franchise, there's no doubt you'll love it. if you're like me, I stopped liking or caring about this franchise after the 2nd film. I decided to give it another chance as I've seen them all, and i was pleasantly surprised that I really liked this installment. Stronger storyline, with your standard saw stuff but nit overall done like usual.
This may be my favorite Saw movie ever. I had given up on this franchise and just like that, Im back! This is a must watch for fans of this franchise.

This is quite simply a beautiful movie. It's well made, well shot and is a nice character study of John Kramer. It's also nice to revisit John Kramer's character after 6 movies of him being dead. And the traps are amazing, but do you know what's better than the traps? The fact that John is the protagonist. We get a deep look into the mind of John Kramer in this movie. Not only is this a great sequel to Saw, since we got a glimpse of John in that movie and this movie is a deep dive into his character, almost introducing him to the audience even if Saw II is his proper character introduction, but it's a great character study of John Kramer. We see him getting scammed and taking it personally, creating some of his most brutal traps in the series for his victims. They hurt him personally, and that's why they're so strict. We also see a possible reason as to why he treated children nicer after Saw I: Carlos. But overall, it's a great character study of John Kramer. And, if Saw XI never happens, I'll be content with the series as it is, for we ended it off on a 10/10 movie. My favourite trap was the Eye Vacuum. It was gruesome as a concept, was a tense scene and gave us a deep dive into John Kramer's mind - he sees someone doing something he finds unpleasant, he finds things around him for inspiration and thinks up what the trap is going to be. It's also just an incredibly well made design that feels like something that John Kramer would make in his post-Saw I and pre-Saw II era, which is when this movie is set. Overall, it's an amazing character study of John Kramer that serves as a nice ending to my Saw journey. Let's hope the producers get it together and Saw XI comes out!
The Saw franchise has established a particular formula, but Saw X relies a bit too much on it. The traps, while gruesome and creative, begin to feel formulaic. A bit more innovation in how the traps are set up or executed would make them more engaging.
Is my favorite movie of this franchise
This brought back the spark that I felt the previous saw films lost, felt like the original ‘2004 Saw’ we all know and love.
This movie did not dissapoint and it was suprisingly good. Saw X was a preque so it took place very early on in the Saw franchise and I was expecting it to be mediocre. Jhon Kramer is left with no hope in curing his cancer, until he stumbles upon a fellow cancer survivor named Henry Kessler. Henry tells Jhon about a program that he did that cured his cancer and gave Jhon the link to check this miracle information out. Jhon is flown out to Mexico where he was lie and decieved to by con artists. They faked his brain surgery and Jhon found out by finding a recording of a brain surgery video on a device that he saw when he was awake for part of the procedure. The main lady who ran this scheme was Cecilia Pederson played by Synnove Macody Lund and she was ruthless. We see that all the people that were involved in this scam were captured and we soon find out that it was none other than Amanda who is still played by Shawnee Smith. These scammers go through a series of tests and all of them end up dying besides Cecilia. Jhon met another man the day he got to Mexico and his name was Parker Sears played by Steven Brand. Apparently he was back for revenge against Cecilia, but he was there to rescue her because he was apart of it the whole time. Jhon captured Parker and told him to play by the rules which meant not grabbing the gun. Parker grabbed the gun, and forced Jhon and Amanda to lock themselves up. Cecilia grabbed a little boy outside Carlos and tied him up in the next trap which made Jhon feel very remorseful. The trap was bloodboarding, and Jhon and Carlos had to work together to get out of there safe. Parker and Cecilia fell for the trap by grabbing the money, and gas started to fill the room upstairs. This automatically set Jhon and Carlos free in which they watched those two upstairs fight for their lives. Only one person could survive which caused a fight to happen and Cecilia killed Parker by stabbing him. The movie ends with Jhon giving Carlos the money that the scammers stole and them walking off into the sunlight. The extra credit scene showed Henry Kessler played by Michael Beach trapped with no visible scar. Jhon was able to find all of these people with the help of Hoffman which was revealed in the end credit scene. Hoffman questions Henry to ask him why he would ever mess with somebody like Jhon Kramer. The scene ends with the trap activating and Henry absolutely terrified. It was very cool to see Costas Mandylor return as Hoffman for one last time as well. Overall, I really liked this movie and it was a good film to put out to give us another story about Jhon Kramer.
Incredible storyline, I've always been a fan of the Saw Series. This movie is amazing, it dives into John Kramer's personal life, and you really get to feel what he feels in this movie. Overall a 4.5.
An okay movie, not perfect.
Another absolutely stunning addition to the Saw universe
Best one so far. The acting was good and plot line more believeable. Still super creepy.
As a big fan of the *Saw* franchise, I was hyped for *Saw X,* especially with Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith back—it felt like coming home. The story really makes you understand John Kramer and why he does what he does, and wow, do you hate the victims in this one. They’re so awful that you almost root for the traps! The practical effects are incredible, and the acting sells every moment. But honestly, it takes a while for the traps and gore to kick in because of all the setup. The twist at the end? Loved it! Classic *Saw*. That said, it didn’t quite hit the highs of the best installments, and I found it less entertaining than I hoped. At least it’s way better than *Spiral* or some of the weaker entries. It’s solid for fans, but maybe my expectations were too high. 3/5.
