Scoop Reviews
Surprisingly boring for a Woody Allen film.
This idea of the film shooting technique director made the film more attractive to people.
An interesting story of journalists' work and life
love, magic and fire ball, great combine!!
Desperately bad story... usually excellent actors all acting badly...I think it's time for Woody Allen to STOP... his role was totally overblown and I feel I've just wasted an hour and a half. Thank god it was free
A perfect movie by a perfect director. I LOVE WOODY ALLEN!!!!!!!!
Occasionally it is an amusing throwback to certain comedies from the 30s and 40s, but without nearly enough witty banter.
Good Woody! A funny Match Point, sort of. Scarlett J. proves once again why she is the world's highest paid actress. And her chemistry with Hugh Jackman is rather huge. Woody is such a good comedy actor, too. Enjoyable fun from start to finish. What's not to like? Don't you love a surprise?!
I heard it is like most Woody Allen comedies. Since Scoop is one of the only ones I have seen. I found the movie a lot of fun.
Writer-director Woody Allen tried his directorial way to charismatically ramble on his comedically improvised stress next to a beneficial cast with his humorous sense delivered at a probable minimum due to easy, flawed storytelling. (B)

Light-hearted, simple, engaging, and enjoyable!
Scoop is a hugely disappointing offering from Woody Allen, a comedy with few laughs and a mystery with a less than satisfying conclusion. The outlandish plot involves the ghost of a dead journalist (Ian McShane), who periodically materializes to provide guidance to a budding journalist (Scarlett Johansson) and a less than mediocre magician (Allen) to help solve a series of murders committed by a serial killer. The majority of the jokes fall flat, primarily as the result of incredibly flat dialogue that, at times, borders on cringe-worthy. Johansson seems miscast in the role of the naïve journalist and Allen appears to be doing nothing more than reprising his Alvy Singer role from Annie Hall.
Lighthearted and absurd comedy set in beautiful surroundings. I really enjoyed the pilot and the characters.
