Scrambled Reviews
The rhythm of this film demands extra effort to get through its first half. Consider it a sign. I insisted on seeing it through to the end—but I shouldn’t have. The main character's delayed maturation—being 34 but acting like 20—adds to the sluggish pacing, making it difficult to stay engaged. While the theme explored is relevant, the execution fails to make it compelling.
I'd forgotten that I'd seen this movie less than a year ago when 'forced' to watch it a second time yesterday... yes, it's very much forgettable as soon as you've seen it. From the in-your-face cliched and boring sex scenes, to the tonal lurches between attempts at raunchy comedy and maudlin scenes of self pity for the protagonist, it wears its threadbare story very thin indeed... so much so that it utilises scenes of revisiting eight - yes, 8 (!!!) - past lovers to see where the protagonist may have 'gone wrong' and to see if 'there is still a chance with any of them'. Writer/director/star Leah McKendrick gave it her best shot and most critics loved this... so don't let me dissuade you from seeing it once (or twice if you forget you've seen it before).
This movie is an eye-opener for anyone who hasn’t struggled to find a life partner and meet the milestones they set for themselves. It’s an interesting commentary on the culture of celebrating one version of life while the other side isn’t acknowledged in the same way. I think the story was handled really well and avoided a cliched ending. I understand that it was based on the writer’s own life experience which makes it all the more compelling.
Humor sorta fell flat. Very raunchy, but has a nice message and has a very distinct target audience, but still somewhat enjoyable for everyone. A little cheesy at times too. Not a bad movie though.
I’m a cryer but this money is so relatable, I absolutely would add this to now one of my favorite movie.
Leah McKendrick is a triple threat, as writer, director and star. A perfect balance of witty comedy and heartfelt honesty. Often hilarious, laugh out loud humor. Wish I saw it with an audience. Keep your eyes out for what McKendrick does next.
Solid humor and performances throughout this raunchy comedy with a decent sized heart at its core. The ending more serious act is probably a little oversized.
Hey all I’m going to say is perfect the movie is just that good
First-time writer director Leah McKendrick packs so much humor and heart into this debut
Scrambled is perfect for every bad B with a soft side. It’s honest, vulnerable and hilarious. A movie that truly makes you LOL and even shed some tears. Even my boyfriend loved it.
This movie had me laughing and crying, it truly tugged at my heartstrings! I absolutely adored it. While I was disappointed I couldn't catch it in theaters, it was definitely worth the purchase to enjoy at home. A 10/10! 🥚🍳💕
I really liked this movie! Very much a bridesmaids but more-so on the drama side of dramedy, which works well for Scrambled. I'd recommend to anyone who is a fan of comedy with some good heartfelt moments as well
Loved every minute of it. Funny, raw, engaging. Excellent all around. Can't wait to see what her next film will be.
I didn't watch this! I hit a wrong button when adding it to my watch list and now i can't undo it. Ugh.
Love the point of view this was told in.
I really enjoyed this. I laughed, I cried. It was so relatable and a really good movie.
this offered a great balance of comedy and emotion, something a lot of people could relate to
This Movie is Just Amazing 👏...Really Nice Awareness and Topic ...( Leah ) , You're Just Amazing at Your Work. I Really Appreciate The Story of this Movie and Your Hardwork. You're just outstanding 👏 at your Performance. Luv Mannan
Didn't really like the movie but did get me thinking. Norms and society preferences have definitely changed . The only useful thing is it made me buy stock in a company that provides these types of services. Market will only grow as people stay single longer
What a surprise this was. I walked in expecting the usual early in the year marginal one trick pony attempt at a comedy and instead the laughs and likability of the characters got better and better. It's too bad no one is going to see it. This deserves to be seen by anyone that enjoys laughing for 90 minutes. Easily the best movie of 2024 from the US.
