Sick Reviews
This one might be one of the worst movies I have ever watched. Seriously, impossible to believe that it got 85%
Whatever thoughts about the pandemic and safe protocol, etc aside: this is just a really sloppily-done slasher. The characters are inconsistent and (thus) unlikable, dissolving whatever stakes were supposed to be in the mix, and the comedy almost misses as much as the threat in both their physical and verbal attacks. When you have the wide-open template of only a few victims being terrorized in a big house on a giant property, it's insane that the same dude who wrote one of the most impacting slashers of all time didn't have the wherewithal to think up even halfway-decent setups/executions/references/twists. Where "Scream" was akin to a work of art for Williamson, this is akin to getting his foot stuck in the typewriter seconds before the final draft was due.
I think I predicted every twist in this movie. As with a lot of slashed the characters were just too dumb. If you want a movie to yell at with your friends have at it.
The ONLY reason per usual this laughably bad movie got good ratings is 100% political in nature. Not to mention the underlying political message didn’t age well now that we know all that we do about what really happened behind-the-scenes.
Acting was ok but so many mistakes in it. Watched the entire film and was bored out of my mind.
Boy. Movies must be getting pretty bad if people are scoring this movie so high. You guys got me. Wasted valuable moments of my life.
Very well made and acted, if basic and simplistic.
I expected more from Kevin Williamson. However it's a good enough movie. It's just not great.
Honestly it was OK. The motive behind the killing wasn't that great but overall it was just OK. I'd not recommend it
Great characters, good job on keeping you guessing on who the killer is and if they have q reason for it or they are just psycho. Very well done. Great Thriller with horror qualities.
I love realistic horror films! Everything in this movie could really happen and that’s what made it so good. Reminded me of the movie SCREAM & Strangers put together
If you like the Scream movies, you’ll love this!
Remember 2020? Rather forget it? Wouldn't we all? Well this movie is also pretty forgettable. This one had potential but for me took way too long to get to the point and wasn't worth the blinks.
I thought the movie was very suspenseful and hardly had any dull moments. It's pretty satisfying as a slasher movie goes. The "big reveal" at the end is just frustrating though, especially for how good the movie is until that moment.
an entertaining, yet mostly familiar slasher with some clever moments. covid is actually integrated into the narrative rather than just being used for the sake of it, which is refreshing, but won’t help this movie as it ages.
This movie had a good premise, but got so many infuriating details wrong! At this point in the world, most of us have taken a Covid test, right? Welp, they sure managed to screw up how it's done in this flick! You also can't tell whether or not someone is actively using a home's wifi by looking at the lights on the damn modem, but apparently that's a thing in this film's reality. Last one that I can't not mention- You can't cut through oak with an electric poultry knife! Someone on set realized this & in the shot, you can see the wood had already been split & the dumb knife just pushes the pieces apart. These are just a few standouts among several other small annoyances. Aside from that nonsense, the movie is well acted with a good cast & certainly captured the daily awfulness of the covid era.
Not bad, it was okay. I didn't like it but it was an okay movie.
Wasn't entertaining at all. Seems like the movie tried to be like scream but it failed
I'm a huge fan of the Scream franchise and I used to love Williamson's work, but this movie is just bad. It kinda works as a typical slasher, but that's not good enough. The twist at the end is so dumb and it doesn't make any sense at all.
There are some movies you know 5 minutes going into it that it's going to be worth the while. This was such a movie. The beginning was suspenseful out of the gate and had me looking away. Great action, scary, decent acting and the kind of slasher that I would gladly see a sequel of. It had me jump several times and was just generally creepy. It actually had a similar feel to Scream which I love. It had also a sense of realism that this could actually happen that I appreciated. The characters actually did semi-intelligent things as opposed to just plain stupid decisions. It didn't insult the viewers intelligence. Finally I really liked the homage to the whole period of lock down COVID. There were a few parts that actually had me laughing because of how ridiculous and paranoid the first days of lockdown were for people. They need to make more slashers like this that are truly scary from beginning to end. Keep them coming!
